i love shelby j and support her music and hop 2 see her live here in charlotte soon . am i mistaken but didnt ebony magazine release a interview with prince before he passed and he was speaking on how him and shelby would never probably work together again? then he made them retract the story.?? i know for the finall year or so shelby wasnt around but liv was | |

Yeah I just thought those comments were interesting. I do think her comments are more about looking back in hindsight than anything specific though I'm sure there are lots of intimate things they discussed over the years. There's something though that just warms the heart about how they all had each other's backs. It's clear people like Shelby, Adrian, etc. were/are very projective of Prince but at the same time he was supportive and encouraging them to do their own thing knowing they wouldn't be with him forever. I have no doubt if P was still around he'd be promoting Shelby, Liv and Adrian's news music like he did in the past with Andy Allo, Judith Hill and others. Paisley Park is in your heart

Even if Shelby's only commenting from "hindsight", having someone who was around P and got to see him in those last few months speak on feeling that P might've known what was was imminent gives me a measure of peace.
The more we see that he might've known and wasn't simply plucked away like an unripe piece of fruit...
It will always sadden me to know he's gone, but just knowing that he wasn't helpless in getting ready...vulnerable, sure, but not completely unknowing...
I'm probably not articulating this well, as this one topic leaves me bereft...

I wonder if people are wrestling with how much they should reveal. I know he was private, but it seems a part of him was opening up even to the fans. That's a helluva balancing act. I don't envy it. | |
