Prince gave her that outfit. It was his. He gave her a beautiful hand drawn demo album. He flew her around the world to his gigs. There is a thread with her press after he died. Said she was so in love with him but wanted to be exclusive...
I was ok with the book till I saw the title. If it's about her whole life then why use a Prince lyric? $$
Since she was a playboy playmate, I wonder if she wanted Hugh Hefner to be exclusive also? |

We here at PP actually saw something like this from CreateSpace. We get a good laugh at some of those titles. There's 1 even titled: "Prince Nelson Rogers." Clearly a copy/paste it job from Wikipedia.

Really? There's nothing wrong with being a Playboy Playmate. Job & Relationship - not the same. Brand new boogie without the hero. |

I'm wondering how many of Prince's ex's are or will be writing books??
I just saw a preorder for this one today:
Playboy Playmate, Actress, Author and Emmy winning producer, Devin Devasquez tells all in this intimate memoir.Compelling and extraordinary, this is the story of a girl who came from a poor and disadvantaged background, but who grew into a young lady in a setting most can only dream of.
Devin, like a butterfly, flitted in and out of the lives of some of the most powerful men on the planet as she became the woman she is today.
Candid and brave, Devasquez shares her journey from Playboy Playmate and Star Search winner to ultimately, Emmy award winning producer, wife and mom. And her time as the girlfriend of music icon, Prince.

I do like that outit she's wearing. Very P-esque.
I've always been in awe of people who can wear white without getting dirty.
I'm sure to spill something on myself. Too clumsy.
LB, supposedly those are Prince's clothes, which he gave to her. I read that several months ago when she came back on the scene. |

Yep, if they didn't have a wedding ring, they didn't mean a thing. Exactly....and this particular lady was only "dating" Prince for a few months.Wasn't he engaged to Susannah Melvoin around that time? I can't imagine that she (Devin) would have much of a story to tell. |

Does it matter if the wedding ring was going for auction or when it was replaced by a second wedding ring?...or did you mean that if they didn't keep THE wedding ring, they didn't mean a thing? This is my normal life. These marital standards cannot be recreated with money. |

No, I meant if he didn't give them a wedding ring, (as in marrying them) then they didn't mean that much to him. I feel the 2 that meant the most to him, he married. All these other girls were just his play things. |

All these other girls were just his play things. They didn't "mean something" for too long unfortunately. I also would argue that he cared a lot about certain women he was involved with whether married, engaged or not maybe even more as he kept contact with a few but not all. This is my normal life. These marital standards cannot be recreated with money. |

I am thinking of writing "Prince: My Paisley Park experience"from Malbena. The ONLY one who knew the cousin of the guitarist whose childhood'best friend grandmother delivered cat food one time at Paisley Park in 1988 and who got to touch the wall with her own hand. Book include a rare photo of the hand print as well as a black and white photo of the grandmother wearing her delivery truck uniform. This is my normal life. These marital standards cannot be recreated with money. |

I could name a few ladies IMO I think he cared about that he didn't marry. Vanity, even though I know they had a tumultuous relationship) Susan moonsie, Sheila E, Susannah Melovin, although ironically he was seeing this lovely lady also along with MANY others while he was engaged to SM. Not that he didn't do that to all of them but he seemed extra brutal to her if you were to believe all the books... He was actually engaged to quite a few of them. Engagement must mean something.. No? I even read in DMSR that he was engaged to Kim Upsher for a bit so add her to the list... Sometimes things just doesn't work out even when you love someone. I'm sure many of us could attest to that... Nonetheless, I have no interest in this particular lady or her book.

Engaged and married are 2 different things. Engagement ring and wedding ring, are 2 different things. Out of all the women he 'dated' there were only 2 he cared about enough to marry. |

Yes, I agree that engagement and marriage are two different things, but i've cared deeply about men as well as they've cared deeply of me that I didn't end up marrying. Things just didn't work out long enough for marriage, but I do understand what you are implying. [Edited 12/8/16 4:51am] |

It's clear that Prince was playing alot of mind games with these ladies He was leading them on...telling them what they wanted to hear...."I'm gonna marry you,I'll take care of you"....Nona Gaye says that's exactly what Prince told her,and then a short time later, she reads in the media that he's "engaged" to Mayte! He didn't even call her to tell her directly. |

According to Vernon Reid Prince broke up with Nona Gaye at Danceteria. So he told her directly. He was a player and most of these women knew that as they have adminted that they knew he had other girlfriends. You can expect someone to marry you who is running around the whole time you are going out. |

It seems to be as easy to fall in love with Prince as it is too get hurt and really bad. He is irresistible for one thing but also any woman would love the challenge of being the ONE which obsviously never happened regardless of claims.
The ONE was his music, the only ONE he stuck with all his life. And she was the most beautiful in the world, the one that never deceived him, the one who transmitted all of him, the one we all rank at number ONE.. This is my normal life. These marital standards cannot be recreated with money. |

Danceteria, that's a time trip. We used to ricochet between there and The Pep (Peppermint Lounge). Many in my crowd died of AIDS very early on. Such creative people. Crazy fun and then sad times...
Agree malbena - the music was The One. Brand new boogie without the hero. |
