Does Dave have a life of his own. He is too invested in Mayte's affairs. He's as obsessed with her as she is with Prince. What a cycle.
Yes I do....I'm assuming you don't if you are so concerned about what I say and do....she's a dear friend....something you wouldn't know anything about...obviously if ya have to come on here and slam me for supporting a friend, then maybe it's you with the obsession...I'd rather live in my cycle than the miserable one you are in.
Mayte's a big girl she can defend herself. Are you hoping to get out of the friendzone or something ? Face it, she will forever love Prince. Mayte don't bother coming on here....some people on here are a bit obsessed with hers and Prince'S relationship...,you don't or didn't know either of them so please stop yourself from playing out whatever fantasy in your head in real life. If anybody is a little obsessed it's you PAISLEYPARKGIRL...How about coming clean and stop hiding behind that screen name. Like I said! Mayte is a friend, she's a sister to me...I know the concept of having a male friend is foreign to you, in fact having any friends may be a foreign concept to you, but it happens. You need to get a life off the internet. Go outside. Maybe try some online dating or go to church or something...you may actually meet real human beings there..not others hiding behind a keyboard... |

Meltedman, if I may, when I go somewhere as someone's friend or representative, I try to stay away from claiming others have mental illnesses or can't possibly know what it's like to have the kind of friendship I have with my friend. I can be the best friend or representative of someone if I state things with kindness and ignore the criticism. It shows the best of me and my friend. But, these days, I don't save other human beings anymore. I did that in my family of origin and it made me sick emotionally. Today I let other people speak for themselves and put my focus on my own life. I allow them the dignity to deal with their own feelings and relationships without me in the way "standing up" for them. That is not my job. No, I have retired from that role. What others think of Mayte is none of her business, let alone yours. It doesn't matter anyway what others say. If there's something she really feels strongly about defending that's said here or clarifying or just plain stating, I would allow her to speak for herself. She's an adult. And people are going to talk on these websites anyway. If I were her I'd just ignore it. I let each person deal with their own personal business. I want healthy boundaries. Even my own father's or mother's relationships with others aren't my business. Tough pill to swallow, but that's the truth. That's real friendship and it keeps me from getting backlash from others that isn't mine to take either. What I'm saying is I am watchful of not stepping where I don't truly belong today. I say this to he a friend to you. I'm sure you're a very good person. I wish you a wonderful day. [Edited 12/7/16 5:10am]
...especially as the hatred towards Mayte will not end. If she truly doesn't bother coming on this site, it might be best to not even bother responding.
I too would strongly advise staying away from attack or false accusations towards a hater while still expressing your opinion and friendship towards your friend. Her own fans, while trying to defend her, actually cause more harm to her reputation in the Prince's by simply fueling the anger and hatred of Mayte. This is my normal life. These marital standards cannot be recreated with money. |

I hardly ever post on here. I love Prince but I'm not obsessed. You on the other hand seem to be obsessed with Mayte and encourage her unhealthy obsession with Prince. Tell her to seek help and go with her while you're at it. Have a great day. You obviously check every thread about Mayte since you waste no time interjecting when your name is mentionned. I think we're entering a rough period right now with out grieving. It's as though it's becoming clear that Prince is not coming back as he was. As the months go by we've gone through all kinds of stages of this thing, and it often hasn't been easy on anyone including definitely Mayte, or any of us. I wonder if we're embarking on the beginnings of acceptance. |

The one thing that I have noticed is that since Prince passed on, people on here seem to have become more mean. I mean this place has not always been a nice place, but it's not been anywhere near as bad as it has become since Prince's passing. It's as though people were hiding behind online personas, just in case Prince might be lurking, and showing themselves to be one way, but as soon as they know he's not around to see, their true colors start showing. It's to the point that I question why I bother to come here at all anymore. I've seen posters that I had always thought were so nice and sweet suddenly begin swearing and putting others down, when they had never done that before (that I ever saw). It's rather disheartening to believe this is who people always were, but they hid it behind a haze of purple glitter. |

I opened my org account in 2002 and have always seen the hate towards Mayte. I remember the multiple threads to that effect. There has always been disagreement, attack, and much more on the org. One of the reason why I left for a little while then returned. My approach now is to enjoy information, share my opinion respectfully, laugh out loud reading some threads, and simply not worry about haters...so I think. This is my normal life. I've been around since 1998, in one form, fashion, or another (InfiniteHeaven was one name I used in the past - NPGMC days). And I've seen that hate, etc., as well, but no where near as bad as it has become. A part of it is newbies, but it's been some of the regulars that I've seen change, too, become meaner, attack with more frequency and vitriol. It's always been like that somewhat, but not to the depth that it is now. For me, it doesn't bother me when people turn that on me. I can just shrug it off. It bothers me to see it directed at others, whether it's associated artists, Prince, or other org members. We never know where someone is emotionally and never know (online) just how deeply our words impact another. There are more and more instances of people being bullied online and committing suicide, especially teens who are emotionally volatile anyway. But there are other people that deal with Bipolar disorder, or other mood disorders, that can be effected deeply by what people to say to them on here and elsewhere on the web. I'm always aware of what I say and how it might effect someone. I would hate to think that I've ever said something to someone online that caused them pain, or made them feel somehow less. I've been treated that way in my life and know how it feels and would not inflict that on someone else.

Absolutely! It is a harsh world. Maybe moderators should regulate this deeper. Thank you both for sharing. Yes, it's both disheartening and sad how much hate there is on the org. The Andy/Prince thread is the perfect example. Most of the contributors/orgers have been overwhelmingly positive on that thread which was started to celebrate and uplift Andy & Mayte's collaborations. In fact, it has become a sweet archive of Andy & Prince's collaborations/relationship. Yet, very recently haters invaded it and began to attack. It's only a couple of orgers, but they are relentless. The same has happened around here many times with Mayte and others being the target of the haters. Thanks again for sharing. It's truly appreciated. #love4oneanother |

It makes me sad when people start hating on Prince's associates, whether they are ex-wives, ex-band members, ex-lovers, ex-protege's, doesn't matter. Prince once loved and cared for these people deeply, so much so that he gave them his time, his guidance, his support, his friendship, and he was someone that he only wanted to surround himself with genuine people. I think he tried very hard to do that. But Prince, being Prince, it's hard for some of the fans to separate Prince, the superstar, from Prince, the man. He wanted to be Prince, the man, with his associates/friends/lovers/wives/band members, but fans always saw Prince, the superstar. So, fans may see what these associates as doing as taking advantage of Prince, or other some such nonsense, but the truth is, no one knows what Prince told these people in private about what they could or could not say or do after he was gone related to their association with him. He may have told every single one of them, "Look, I love you and I want you taken care of. If I die before you, I won't care any more about what people say about me, but because you've been in my camp, people are going to look at you, make the most of that time." Who knows!? It's just as likely as Prince saying, "Don't ever utter my name or bring up your time with me after I'm gone." That second one doesn't sound like Prince, at all.

I don't get this hatred. I don't know Mayte, none of us do, so we shouldn't pass judgement. Maybe people want to read her story and maybe some people don't! It's no reason to start flinging nastiness around. She always comes across as a sweet person to me. And anyone who devotes so much time and money to helping animals is always okay in my book! There's always a rainbow 🌈 , at the end of every rain ☔️ |

Unfortunately, I've seen too much of that lately. Mainly, I think it comes down to some people always wanting to be right about their speculation. "I'm right and you're wrong, so I don't know why you are coming at me with your own speculation," seems to be the name of the game often in those threads about his greatest loves, proteges, and then it somehow becomes fact to them. But the fact is that it is merely speculation. His greatest love was God, first, then music, and that isn't speculation but words from Prince.
To me, his individual greatest love was whoever he was with at that time. Do you sit around and mope for a lost love when you get into a new relationship? I don't. I'm all about the lover I'm with, not the one I had who hurt me or whom I hurt or of which we hurt each other. I just can't imagine Prince being the moping for a lost love type. But that is my inability to imagine it. Who knows, maybe he was, but he was a Gemini and Gemini's are notoriously non-mopers. And as easily as Prince would lost interest in a project he was working on (remember the many albums he spoke of that never came to fruition), what makes anyone think that he wouldn't lose interest interest in a relationship just as easily? He never had a problem moving on to the next one and never seem to have a problem letting go. But, really, even what I'm saying is speculation. I didn't know Prince personally, but from my observations of him this is what I believe I've seen. (And I'm a Scorpio, we love to dig deep into the depths of someone and have a great intuition about people - BUT I've been wrong and have been hurt when I've been wrong - so take that all with a grain of salt. lol)

No one should threaten Mayte in any way, but that's an unstable person that's not even worth discussing and I hope she's prosecuted.
The main problem on the Org lately is the posters who can't have a constructive discussion with anyone who disagrees with their point of view. One person's idea of mean is another person stating an opinion and since we're all supposed to be adults, I think we should be able to have a conversation without calling each other "haters" or whatever the word of the day is. I have always thought that most people on this board, moderators included, were good people and fine with different points of view as long as things were respectful. I have been a lurker longer than I have been a member but I really miss the posts from the old heads who started great topics and were always good for some funny and insightful posts. I'm just starting to see that there are a couple of Orgers that have other intentions than just discussing Prince. I also suspect that these same people go from forum to forum trying to stir things up about certain topics but no one else was willing to take the bait. |

There have been posters in the past who've strongly liked or disliked Prince's wives and protégés, but the current happening is about something different.
Everyone agrees on the Andy Allo thread that they like Andy very much, Andy Allo is not the problem. It's the cruel behavior of one obsessed poster towards others here that has hurt people and is rubbing some folks the wrong way.
Some who see the harms being done and problems starting are joining that poster's "troops" with their own motives in mind. It's all about power - and when people feel powerless they'll pick a side with who they feel is the most "in power" at the moment or is getting the most attention, then foster division. That's what happens sometimes in groups. *shrug*
The fact that the Org was free of that before now, was a huge reason I love it here.
It'll pass though.
So that's why I say, I pay attention to who is suddenly very "gracious" or very nice right now...Prince could always see through that stuff!
Internet cliques can, as Benni alluded to, can be harmful. And I don't want to be hurting anyone today.
So none of it is about Andy Allo...never was.
Aren't people interesting?!
OK. Have a great day y'all. [Edited 12/8/16 8:16am]

The love is still here. |

Ouch!
Well, I think I have been honest enough to express my opinion and yet remained respectful to befriend people I disagree with. This is my normal life. These marital standards cannot be recreated with money. |

"Some" people sure need to grow up.
Step away from computer open ur front door, step out, look around, feel the air, look above, breathe in the out. Put one foot in front of the other, take a long walk. Smile, say hi to people in ur neighbourhood, keep walking. Never return to the computer. Just keep walking by. Stop talking ish and threatening someone's life. Doing so tells me the sadness in a life. Go find that beautiful life you crave. Be happy cause this life is short ur next life u'll answer to the creator for all the hurt you caused another. So take my advice step out that door and stay well away from the net. [Edited 12/8/16 9:48am]

Clearly, there is a good deal of MADNESS among the Prince fandom. Now, it appears to be enveloping his exes. Social media seems to be a breeding ground for it. [Edited 12/8/16 14:44pm] |
