CONDENSATE celebrates year number 5

Although some people don't like all the songs on this album, I do! I'm just sorry I didn't get to see the original Time line-up perform it in L.A.. That's only because they were supposed to come my way in a short time. sad Love the album though...

Condensate - Does it get funkier at year #5? #TheTime - The Original 7ven

yes Love the fellas biggrin 'If I was your man' is my tune, it's all about Bean on those skins! biggrin
I was sooo happy when they got back together, had everything crossed 4 a London gig. Only time they played here was '90 at Hammersmith. I was a grinning fool throughout the whole gig. So much fun. Love them. biggrin

Jesse has video clips of the orginal way it sounded for songs like Strawberry Lake, Sick, AYDKMN on his facebook page. Just start hunting through his videos, because he puts the orginal audio up and then does a like a video slide show to explain how it was created, what instruments were used and tell the story of how the songs came to be what we know them as.

i love the energy of the album. the only downer for me is the drum sound. i prefer live drums not programs and patches.

I STILL enjoy this album. About half of it is better than anything that came out of the Prince world in a while (at least for me). Toast To The Party Girl is truly classic Time. There are some incredible tracks on here (GoHomeToYoMan, Hey Yo, If I Was Yo Man, and of course, Sick is epic!). A few misteps for me (Cadillac, Strawberry Lake, the press conference, etc.) but overall, it fits perfectly into The Time's catalog.

If you haven't heard the album, listen to Toast To The Party Girl which has several call backs to some of the best stuff from The Time.

The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

Love this CD but they were not catching Prince. From Rainbow Children to 3121 and AOA or HIT and Run.

I have none of those CDs on my playlist. They are ok, but not my cup o' tea. I can't get through Rainbow Children even though every 6 months I give it the old college try! lol I want to like it, but it just doesn't do much for me outside of a few tracks, may of which sounded better live. Most of the post WB stuff from Prince just didn't speak to me. Good for him for trying new things and I still got them all, but it just wasn't my jam.

I liked Condensate and the return of David Lee Roth to Van Halen album A Different Kind Of Truth which came out in 2012. I wished Michael Anthony was involved though.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
