The Dr Funk podcast

Great podcast episode (24). Dr Funk talks about Tyka and the urn, also a great interview with Paisley Park sound engineer Scott Baldwin

What was it that was said about the urn?

He said that he liked the urn but not the jewels on it. He also wants the urn to be placed in Prince private apartment,so it would not be part of the tour.

Are we supposed to care what he wants? What's so special about this guy anyway?

I don't think there is anything special about the guy, but he thinks he is something special. wink

For some reason he thinks he is protector of everything Prince. Fact is that he really has no say in any decision that the estate makes. wink

He does not have a say but Londell has been working with him so someone is interested in his input and he is giving people on the inside a chance to be heard since the mainstream media is not interested in hearing anything positive about Prince' s life.

In this podcast he says Prince spoke to a woman every Thursday & it was her who alerted Doc that Prince wasn't answering the phone. 1 thing about the story says a lot about him - he adds for no reason that he will not say who the woman is because it will just make people upset, but he'll put her name out there if she wants him to.

Why not just say someone told him they couldn't get hold of Prince? Why add all that unnecessary extra detail?! He does this all the time!

I appreciate him speaking up for Prince whilst everyone else exploits his death for their own gain, but I can't help feeling he's dodgy.

I can't stand him. Quit with the 'I know something but I'm not going to tell you what it is' nonsense. All it does is make me question whether anything he's saying can be believed. And please stop with this martyrdom routine. If he's really the only one looking out for Prince's best interests why isn't he trying to stop everything that's happening? Why does he say he's going to wait for Graceland to fail to get involved? Again all that tells me is he isn't really on the inside like he wants us to believe he is. Spilling tea, throwing shade and sniping from the sidelines on a podcast isn't really constructive. Add to that the whiny I've got the weight of the world on my shoulders voice and his podcast is pretty much unlistenable for me.

People, I do not get all the criticism. Sure Dr Funkenberry has some idiosyncrasies, but we all do. Who else has supplied as much 'inside' info?? Who else arranged for those incredible interviews with Scott and Dave? All of this is GOLD to us.

I also feel Dr truly has Prince's bes intentions in mind. I believe he is a huge fan, like many of us, the guy has dates rolling off the top of head...

Keep it up...we are listening.

He annoys me more than all the other annoying associates combined....he is a two faced poser/wannabee, whose story changes every week.

I still haven't forgiven him for chastising the entire fanbase for being concerned after the plane incident. He insisted that P was okay and we were over-reacting.

He's semi literate and very unprofessional.

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

She alerted which Doctor? Doogie Howser that flew in from CA or the primary care doctor? I'm gonna go with Doogie Howser. I will suspect the woman is Merone, his personal assistant. So, she calls P. No answer. She then contacts Doogie Howser. Then Kirky J. They pick up Doogie Howser from hotel and head to Paisley where they discover P's body sad

One would assume he was talking to his assistant more than every Thursday. And why would mentioning her name upset people? Most probably don't even know who she is.

Honestly, that quote about the every-Thursday-woman didn't make a ton of sense and struck me more as a way of injecting himself into the whole death-scene chaos, if only by phone. There may be some person he talked to every Thursday but I don't think that had anything to do with Dr. S's son being at Paisley with Meron and Kirk and eventually making the 911 call that morning. (Not going to rehash that whole scene here -- plenty of other threads where it's been discussed.)

Yes, and also to draw people in to continuing to listen to him for inside info since he won't be getting anything from Prince anymore. I'll take a guess and say that "mentioning her name would upset people" implies it's one of the ex's that he is referring to. Isn't he supposedly chummy with both of them? Not impressed with him at all.

I thought that at first but in the first podcast he did after 21/4 he said "a woman Prince was close with" - he'd already mentioned Judith Hill by name at that point so I don't think it's her. I think it's Judith and/or Tamron he doesn't want to upset by mentioning a third woman. Maybe it's that penguin chick?!! If it was an ex I think they'd have spilled the beans by now.

/-/ Then skip past his comments and listen to the interviews with the engineers. Very interesting stuff about Prince's work habits and once again none are describing the behavior that screams drug problem. The interviews have put a different perspective on a lot of things.
