Jesse Johnson, Sonny T & Michael Bland to Honor Prince and Jimi Hendrix
....Jesse Johnson just posted this info.......... IT'S ABOUT TO GET LOUUDDDD (& Fonkay) IN MINNEAPOLIS! (My true spiritual home) Dearest Friends, I hope you and I will get to spend a joyful night together.(December 2, 2016 Friday) Lets, sing, dance, heal, and shout together once again. I will be performing my own songs, Jimi's songs, The Time (songs I've wrote with P), my favorite Prince compositions, and beyond.......? Yes I'm a bit terrified by it all, but I've walked through fire many a time in my life and I'm sure this upcoming journey will be a continuation of exploration of this thing named "Love Music". My love for music is so deep and so high, I feel that the relationship between you and I is sacred. So for those attending our upcoming shows, (Sonny, Mike, & I) we want to send you home with your sonic palate satisfied and better yet, "With your mind blown". I'm looking forward to us dancing together. LovePeace, Jesse Friday Dec 2, 2016 at First Avenue's Main Room is the 24th Annual Jimi Hendrix Remembered event. Celebrating Jimi's 74th Birthday. Gypsy, Sun, and Rainbow tribute to Jimi, Band of Gypsys & Beyond. Featuring Jesse Johnson, Sonny Thompson & Michael Bland. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. I just saw that on twit. That is very cool! Would love 2 see footage. "We just let people talk & say whatever they want 2 say. 9 times out of 10, trust me, what's out there now, I wouldn't give nary one of these folks the time of day. That's why I don't say anything back, because there's so much that's wrong" - P, Dec '15

That will be a super show playing Hendrix music! I seen (and met!) Jesse play in Amsterdam 2015. Does anyone know if he is married? He wasn't wearing a marriage band and was talkative and friendly with several of us. We see photos of Terry and Jimmy Jam's wives but what about the rest of The Time?

I'm so going to that one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I get to see Sonny T at Bunker's once in a while. Very nice to speak with. This is my normal life. These marital standards cannot be recreated with money.

justAmeda, I am not sure how to say this but as soon as I posted a woman who knows Jesse informed me by message he is very much married and even sent a photo taken backstage after a concert she found on a Time site. She asked I keep her name private but I can post the photo. She encouraged me to. Sadly, I do not know how to do that in forum. My curiosity was only because his talkativeness was perceived by some as flirtation. He talked a long time. ![]()

that's awesome! yeah from hearing him in interviews he has said he keeps his personal life private. I know many of us lady fans have had the natural curiosity. Yeah I wouldn't post it or her name cause I believe us fans do have to respect an artist's wish to keep personal stuff to themselves. That's cool that she responded. The man is an amazing talent on guitar so I know this will be a good show. I'm hoping those of us who don't live in MN can somehow see it by live stream or video

You are a thoughtful fan! I am new to prince.org and not accustomed to posting policy but belong to other fans sites where they openly discuss the musicians partners. Why wouldn't they? They aren't posting private information simply this is who they are in civil union/marriage with. They are respectful in it but doesn't fame bring with it fans who are curious? Her name is Sheila Rae. If Jesse Johnson is attempting to keep this part of his life in secrecy I don't think he would write a song about her and put it on his album. ;-) In respect of your views I will start a new thread once I investigate how that is carried out. I am curious about several of Prince's protégés. And we knew the Purple One's wives, did we not? They marry in and become part of the family! Tot zo justAmeda! ![]()

Yeah I see no harm in fans knowing that stuff. I just know that Jesse has never talked about his family life in interviews much. I always got the impression that he only wanted us fans to just know about his music. Even the pictures he posts on his facebook are normally him at shows or people he has worked with in the biz. Again I just got the impression that he did not want fans knowing stuff so I had never thought to express my curiosity about it.
