I think Jill's idea of a yearly music festival honoring Prince in the vein of South by Southwest is by far the best idea I've heard so far. Paisley Park would be a living breathing entity--the way Prince wanted it to continue. Invite artists, young and old, local and international, who embody the spirit, musical roots, and vision that Prince lived...and encouraged. cool

Yeah, I really liked the sound of that too, also P's love of tech & helping the people being incorporated too.

I honestly thought that they would replicate the Celebrations Prince used to have. They could do it on his birthday or something and still have the museum because he gave tours of PP too.

I'm cuttng them some slack because the nature of what happened was so sudden, but it doesn't have to be either or. It's still early and eventually they might do several things with PP, including operate it as a studio again. Jill might feel better about it as time goes by.

Good interview.

I agree with you. It's early days yet... A lot of us might feel better as things get resolved and plans get enacted. We shall see. But, if the estate were to replicate the Prince-type Celebrations, I would be there. Too bad I didn't have the opportunity to go way back when...

Yes but you cannot deny Prince was the genius- his legacy speaks for itself and silences a lot of the noise.

I agree one hundred percent. Sadly we still have folks who want to give credit where it's NOT due. Hopefully Jill dispelled some of those myths. disbelief

It means so much to me that the last venue I saw Prince in with my son was a small club within walking distance from my home. Terrific memories...

Well, I'm selling my sister short. She was a Prince fan way back when and went to the Musicology tour. But not a die-hard like me. The great thing is being able to pass on that passion for wonderful music to your kids--my son taught himself how to play the hell outa some Prince solos on guitar. That is the true legacy of Prince's music--to pass it on to younger generations. wink I thiink that's what Prince was trying to do in latter years... I would love to see PP used as a music school, too, but that may be a bit much with everything that has been discussed on this board... lol

First things first, let me apologize for the rough audio. The monitors in the studio were off and I couldn't hear myself. I take pride in the quality of my shows and I deeply apologize for those who had an issue listening. However, the 2-5am broadcast which I just uploaded is in my opinion a much clearer sound and is more crisp. You can find that here For Love: A Conversation ...ill Jones. I also want to to thank you all for the love and positive vibes. Jill is a wonderful person and she will be back soon because there is so much we didn't get to talk about. As for playing The Undertaker in it's entirety, I had do it! Y'all take care and be easy!

Loved the interview and the music. If Jill does come back can you ask her what is was like being reunited with the old gang at Vanity's funeral. Their pics give me chills seeing them as real women all grown up.
