Apples never said she was his widow. She like most of us feel like we were his widow (in the bereavement sense) with his sudden passing.

I saw all three nights of the REV concert and don't recall her saying she was his widow. She threw hoop earrings and asked people if they loved Prince. Brenda B. did most of the talking nights 2 & 3. Now, in her FB post back in August she said she FELT like his widow. I took that statement to mean she was grieving like a widow would grieve.

I guess this explains the BET Awards Tribute that Sheila E. produced. It included Mayte, but no Apples or Mani. Perhaps that was our first clue about this "alignment" within Prince's camp.

Interesting. Martika says that she only met Prince once, at Paisley Park when she travelled there with her mother. She says that "Love Thy Will Be Done" was inspired by some of her journals that she gave him at that meeting. I guess that was a way for him to get to know her. She details their professional relationship in the article linked below.
