Why don't we talk about Londell McMillan?

I know he must float around here from time to time and he's a lot more outspoken than the other people in the inner circle. I know he's the/a lawyer and all, but where did he come from? How long has he been Prince's lawyer? All that.

We talk about Kirk, Tyka, Judith, etc..., but we never say anything about this guy and he seems to have been pretty close to Prince.

Londell was Prince's emancipator...He is the one who told hom, you can go to the restroom and wash Slave off your face..Prince rewarded him by funding his law firm..Londell managed to do as an African American , young lawyer, 27 yrs old, what the biggest firms in LA and NYC couldnt..

He also is now owner of the Source magazine

He also had a law office in my town for a long while, right downtown. I don't believe that it is here anymore. But he had it until the early aughts.

While he and Prince fell into non-communicative terms in more recent years, he certainly played a huge role in Prince's freedom of contracts and stipulations, etc.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

If I read it, I don't remember why. You know how Prince bounced between folks. One thing could set him off.

I do remember reading recently where Londell said he had tried to get Prince to make a will and Prince never wanted to talk about stuff like that, or face it. That's why I believe there truly is no will. For the life of me, I can't find that article, but it was published pretty soon after April 21. I'm not saying that's why they fell out.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

They never fell out. Londell was in high demand. He later represented Michael Jackson, Kanye West, Stevie Wonder and many artists. They always stayed friends and whenever they were spotted together it was always love.

Londell didn't say that, though.

Let me edit this. "Falling out" is a rough term. I think they went separate business directions, and ended their professional relationship. They did stay friendly through the years....mostly.

Good to know. A lot of people seem to have hate for this guy and I'm not sure why. Everyone is doing the best they can and this is not Londell's only job. According to the Star Tribune his services are up in November unless Bremer decides to renew them.
