Jeff Lee Johnson Michael Bland and Sonny Thompson in Paris

Yesterday night Jeff Lee Jonhson was at the New Morning in Paris with Michael B. and Sony T. It was a rather baffling performance only instrumental (guitar bass and drums) and very diversified. Some tracks reminded me of The Undertaker video, others were inspired by Prince or George Clinton, other sounded more like jazz, blues or rock. I didn't expect that kind of music at all so I was really surprised. What stroke me is their complicity and simplicity on stage like they're rehearsing while they're playing great music. After the show we got the chance to go backstage and to talk to them and they were just as cool as expected. It is incredible to see such good musicians and great artists be so accessible whereas crappy Britney or Backstreet Boys get all worked up whereas they can't even sing properly or play an instrument. Well that was great and I thank them for their music and simplicity.
