----- It took one for me and I was glued to my bed as sick as a dog from the side effects. I don't understand how people are seeing him as some super human person who could fuction on these things at his level for years.
I also think by having mis-labled pills may also show he was not as knowledgable about these drugs as the media would have you believe. Yes but not everyone is affected like that. I know it doesnt affect me like that..and then theres the issue of dosage..Sounds like the mg. of ur meds were too high for you..Many peeps would just break the pill in half if they really needed it for pain but the dosage was too strong taking just one... He very well could have functioned for some yrs(not 30!!) on a low dosage for pain that was occasionally upped. How he ended up where he did, with counterfeit pills, overdosing(?) on the plane and dead in an elevator with his clothes on backwards is a hotbed for speculation, endless theories and a true fucking mystery... Rhonda Smith is awesome. Definitely at the top of the list. Yeah, I was lumping all the protege/muse/female bandmembers together (I think of Lisa Coleman as a musician/band member first and foremost), but I do believe in the early years those roles were blurred. (I think Wendy or Lisa or someone said they were all in love with each other.) Later those lines were more clearly drawn; there were those who were just proteges or muses or members of the band, especially in the last few years.
I give Hannah props for the courage to play in his band. She kept up for the most part. But he did have better drummers in the past. Donna and Ida could give any of the others a run for their money, IMHO. I had to take the time to watch some of their live shows to realize it, though.

I love this pic also. The way he looks at her and pretty much throughout the whole movie! They had such an amazing chemistry, especially considering she was cast in such a short time before filming Don't get me wrong, I adore Appolonia, but even when the movie first came out I thought they were cute together but I only saw platonic chemistry. | |

I dunno guys, Jill's voice really lifts a lot of songs up there imho. Sure she's only a singer but I think she was one of the most distinctive he ever worked with. I'd take her vocals over pretty much every featureless over the top wailer he had from 1988 onwards. | |

Hannah was, what, 23 when she first hooked up with Prince? Are we comparing her to Sheila or Cora when they were 23? I think she was pretty damn good for as young as she is and just the pressure of working with Prince where perfection is expected and mistakes really aren't tolerated. Paisley Park is in your heart

So I will say this, "where I'm", I know exactly what we mean by "pimp hand was strong". And I will just leave it at that. Don't worry, I know what you mean and understand it's just a turn of a phrase. I use it often myself to describe "Cat Daddies" of a certain age with ability to pull the ladies as it is colloquially intended, not more not less. Forget about the fact that Prince jokingly used both pimp and gigolo imagery in his songwriting, stage banter and general aesthetics: folks are in a sensitive space and feel compelled to defend his honor, I guess... Thank you so much for criticizing the use of the term "pimp hand" here. It's disrespectful and inappropriate to use that term when responding to such a beautiful testimony. And thank you to Apollonia for sharing her thoughts and personal experience. "Love & honesty, peace & harmony" | |

When she says "you celebrated us", is this a classier way to say they had sex ? | |

So beautiful. I love Apollonia; she is such a genuine & sweet person!! I was reading an article yesterday where she talked about the making of Purple Rain and how she almost died. I never knew this story, but she was going into hypothermia from being in that cold lake and she said how Prince put his arms around her and held her and said "Don't die", and then she came-to. She said Prince was so warm and loving. Brings tears to my eyes!! . Here is the article: . http://blog.thecurrent.org/2014/07/apollonia-shares-her-near-death-experience-on-the-set-of-purple-rain/
