And the fact you insist on calling it a pimp hand is the reason you'll never understand why it was so strong.

Sorry, if that's all people got out of this post it's pretty sad. As far as I'm concerned pimp is a derogatory term that should never be used in association with Prince. Same thing with junkie.

CO.Sign..i was watching this documentary last night called the hookers and the pimps on that doc were demons to the core. Why would fans want to use that derogatory term regarding prince.

Beautiful. I was worried about her because she hasn't said anything at all since April 21. I hope time continues to heal her. The picture at the end of the FB post was so sweet. Beyond all my crazy fan girl fantasies, this really confirms how wonderful it would have been to call Prince a true friend.

I have sensed some division amongst the "Purple Family" since he left us, this confirms it. There are people she did not mention by name that I think she may be talking about, but I won't elaborate- because Prince loved them all at various times in different ways. I do too. I appreciate all aspects of his career and people that were a part of it. He's gone now so I'll just take in as much as I can.

Thank you Apollonia!

This is the sweetest thing I have read in four months. Thank you so much, Apollonia. touched

She said, "I know you wanted to live." And I broke down again because I never believed the people who keep trying to say that he didn't. sad

Apollonia said, "On April 21st you changed the lives of many."

This is the truest statement I've heard yet. But it's not something that many of us have realized.

When Prince died, the natural reaction of many was to start thinking about how he lived his life. Especially as he grew and matured. The stories that came out about his generosity and love - including Apollonia's - are astounding.

Two thoughts have come into my head consistently over the last four months:

1. Man, was I lucky to pick the greatest artist ever as my favorite artist; and
2. I want to live my life like he lived his.

Point #2 is the one we can all take. I've told many friends that Prince was an exceptional human being. Not just an exceptional artist - an exceptional person. This comes from my few times with him, but mostly from what I've read about from those who knew him well.

Prince knew how to live. On April 21, 2016 perhaps his greatest gift was bestowed upon those who followed him - that we, too, would do our best to love one another as he did.

Awww.......come here ya big lug! clapping

I an eternally grateful that I was able to tell Prince in person what he meant to me. I miss him so much.

Apples has shown what someone who is truly grieving does IMO
Yes we all grieve different but much respect to her for not being a "widow " making his death about her
Prince seems to have many widows
Blessings to Apples for what appears to authentic love for the man not the image not the icon.

No, you're taking it somewhere else. Pimp has a meaning, and that meaning is exploiting and being abusive to women. The fact that we live in a fucked up culture that has taken that word and decided it's cool to wallpaper it everywhere isn't something we all think is trivial (there is a ton of harmful shit this culture had decided to wallpaper everywhere). What those of us objecting are saying is that we still hear the violence in the word, and so we don't like it being applied to Prince and his relationships to women, and I for one suspect Prince wouldn't much like it either.

Not like I love my guitar....

So beautiful. Apples seems like such a wonderful person. It warms my heart to know that he was not alone and that many around him truly loved him and were there for him. However, it also makes the situation even more sad, I believe. This process has been so difficult. It still doesn't seem real or make sense. I know the saying goes, "Whatever is meant to be will be," but is that really so? Prince was/is my bright spot in life. In a world of so many evil people, he made it better. Now, everything has changed. Are things really supposed to be like this? I've become too damned cynical to be this young. It just doesn't feel right. :-(

I hope you guys find something to make you happy today.

I love Apollonia and always have. Not only is she so beautiful, she is a sweet soul too. I never understood their friendship/romance (I mean the extent of it obviously I can't imagine Prince NOT being attracted to her) but it seems like there was a lot of love there all the way up until the end there. So sorry for her painful, personal loss. He touched so many lives that is for sure.

-- No you are taking it somewhere else. You know Prince did not have women on the street so common sense should tell you the word "Pimp" is not being used in that manner. The word has taken on a different meaning over the years and because you do not like it really will not change anything.

I think it's the usage of the word. Everybody doesn't speak the same slang.

I knew exactly what you meant by "pimp hand was strong".

I love this.

Yes, she is sweet, and yes, Prince is watching over her.

I chuckled after our little differences here this morning about whether or not they were romantic.

Bottom line is, he loved her. And that is what it's really all about.

God bless, AK. And thanks for the post. It helps!

I'm not trying to be funny but how are people drawing the conclusion that Prince and Apples had a relationship or sexual relationship from her post? Because she said they "kissed"?

I don't think she meant they kissed in the mouth, she probably just meant they kissed on the cheek.

Apollonia immediately called that first Od for what it was in the classiest way possible ("Prince you need to take care of yourself") and immediately earned my respect. Even better now to hear how she was trying to get to him to make sure he was ok. It's disturbing though that he curved her... For the moment I put that in the 'no way in hell I'm actually going to rehab' box.

Loved her posted and was delighted to know after all of these years they still were in touch. After 30+ years! Who knew! lol I do find it puzzling that he was in contact with Apples, there are rumors of somewhat recent love letters from P found by Denise's(Vanity) family after she passed. He talked and had a great friendship with Tamron Hall yet seem to avoid Mayte and Manuela like the plague if those rumors are true. It's like if you married him and was closest to him he axed you.The more casual friendly relationships seemed to stand the test of time with him.Just my take....
