Well, Jill Jones just went off on FB talking about don't tag her in anything REVOLUTION related. Saying they a Milli Vanilli band, and lied about not being invited to the memorial (cause they declined), etc.

What is her beef with everyone? Sheila? REVOLUTION? She be insinuating stuff about folk, but don't come after her "truth"

Jill Jones seems to be a miserable person...always bitching and having "issues" with people.I am so done with her.

Exactly, it isn't grief that's caused this, she has a history of it. I think she's unhinged.

Jill is always running her trap about something. Didn't she she claim she thought Prince on something and ask him if he wanted to go skydiving? I mean for years she and others talked negative about Prince. Now everybody want to fight about being acknowleged and included in his funeral and tributes. This just sad and ridiclous. At this point it is not about Prince anymore. People need to come to together in sad times not talking crap about each other.

To anyone, respectfully, let's not bring her vitriol and ignorance to this particular thread. Militant started a thread in Associated about her blatherings on Facebook.

Wow Jill is/was going hardcore on the Revolution and she took veiled shots at Wendy and Susannah.

I won't post it on here though. She also since hide the post from public viewing so you have to be her friend to see the post.

Yeah it is hard to believe the family didn't invite the revolution.

I am Prince fan first and I refused to take any sides. So you might see me criticize the family like I did on other threads and I even criticized Prince but at the end of the day I am Prince fan before anyone else in his camp.

I have been saying for months there definately some cliques going on among the associates and I refuse to take part of that. Even though the revolution is my favorite band I like the bands prior to the revolution and post revolution.

People need to understand something. Everybody is NOT going to stay friends or close forever. And also, just because you are close with your friends, doesn't mean that those FRIENDS are going to be close to your family members.

Questlove to spin Prince dance parties after the Revolution's concerts

In true Prince fashion, the partying won’t stop when his Revolution bandmates finish their three tribute concerts at First Avenue later this week, and some special guests will show up, too.

Questlove of the Roots and “The Tonight Show” will DJ for the after-parties on Friday and Saturday night at the club, while local spinmeister Jake Rudh will also head up a late-night dance fest following Thursday’s gig. The parties -- scheduled 11:30 p.m.-2 a.m. each night -- will be open to all Revolution ticketholders, and a limited number of extra tickets are on sale now for $10 via First Ave outlets. First Ave also released a small amount of extra tickets to the Revolution shows this morning.

Along with the dance-party announcements, First Ave also confirmed that Prince’s “Purple Rain” co-star Apollonia will also appear at this week’s Revolution concerts. Both Apollonia and Questlove have appeared with the Revolution’s members in recent years at First Ave for drummer Bobby Z’s My Purple Heart fundraiser shows.

Well-known as a Prince fanatic, Questlove planned to spin a Prince tribute set

I totally get what they are coming from about the need for a "grieving concert".

I mean no disrespect to Prince's family and I know they've got A LOT going on right now but I keep thinking back to Mohammed Ali's funeral, it was broadcast worldwide and I sat and watched it, paid my respects from the UK and it really helped with the grieving process.

My issue is this, will the October memorial be broadcast live to those of us who cannot travel (for whatever circumstance) to Minnie so we also can collectively grieve together?

I just feel stuck in limbo, like it's still not real, even though I know it is. I just think it's going to be another memorial for the lucky ones who can get tickets and that bothers me. We are his Purple family, and I just feel excluded in the UK as he's rarely mentioned over here sad

Black radio were not playing her record because they thought she was white. He may have wanted her to ditch the blonde her for that reason or was just irritated that the record did not do well it was his first side project to bomb.

Oh, that is some info! Must have been hurtful for Jill too to hear people confused about her identity sad

My first album was a very long pregnancy, good God, it took so long get out. It was a really ace album, but, the timing was way off. I don't think everyone was ready for it. Radio wasn't looking for it. There's a rap convention in Atlanta that I went to and people came up to me saying “you're Black? I didn't know you were Black! I would've played your record.” I just came back to Prince, like, “should I just get a tan?” White people somehow knew I was Black and they said “I'm not playing that house Negro on the radio.”

The album was dead in the water. Then, I went to a function and I think I was crying. A Warner Brothers executive (Rob Dickens, CEO of Warner Brothers UK) saw me and he put money into the project to do promotion in Europe. We made the (music) video (for the single "Mia Bocca")...They (Europeans) always liked Josephine Baker, that whole thing always worked. I was discriminated against in my own country. I opened for Jody Watley in LA and, seriously, the crowd just stood there whole time with their arms crossed. I was angry dancing. I was singing “G-Spot” and I was like “I'm not going to shake my ass.” I know (on past tours) I would go out in my bra and panties, but, then I put on my trench coat and I'd leave. I just threw the mike down and walked off the stage. Prince came to me and said “is that it, are you done?” Maybe he created the diva in me.

Really? Behaving like a Dive but without the success to back it up. Oh Jill, she should have been a bit more humble on her way up rather than act so entitled.
Baby, you're a star.

I do believe it's genuine. They were his contemporaries, even though he was the boss. It's different than later bands. It's like those friends you were close to in those formative years when you were coming up. Yes, you go on to live separate lives and maybe they even piss you off forever. But, boy, when they die the grief is real...and hard.

Exactly. Not to diminish his other bands at all but The Revolution are the band that Prince entered the world's stage with. They went through it together and that bond will always be there. Like school friends who share memories of their youth spent together, it was a very special time for them all. They must miss him immensely. I mean, Lisa knew him from almost day one, they lived together for a while and just going through that time when you don't have much money but life is a big adventure. It must have been hard and amazing all at once. He was their boss and friend.

Your comments are rude, distasteful, and out of line. If you don't like The Revolution, or Wendy, Lisa, & Susannah, then don't comment. But to sit and be to blatantly offensive and vitriolic is inhuman. You don't know diddly about their state of mind, nor their relationship. These gals grew up together from day one pretty much; way before you saw any of them in a music video. So sit down, and shush.

I'd bet that won't happen. Not this time, or anytime in the near future. And she could be flying anywhere.

I mean, if she gets on stage w/ The Revolution, she's either off her rocker based on her FB venom, or straight up lying about anything and everything. But she ain't gettin' over her issues in the next few days.

I'd almost lay money she's going to protest out front of First Avenue. HAHAHAHA
