Looking at footage and interviews at the time I think because P said in an interview on the view that he tore up the marriage contract and Mayte's and his marriage was spritual.. weird I know... I think people have assumed and the press that their was some sort of annullment.. when what was happening is that they had seperated P was living in Minni and Mayte in spain.. right up until the end of the year though there was still some appearances and phtoo shoots together.. so maybe P was trying to work it out... and torn between losing mayte and LG converting him to JW.. who knows.. but looks like no annullment.. seperation and then divorce in 2000..
