Which band?

Lets say you are a musician and prince asked you to be in a band, which would you want to be in Npg or the revolution? Me I think Npg I would loved to work with Rosie and I find the songs at that time amazing , not that the revolution wasn't , I think I just have a soft spot for that era

NPG...the funk and grooves during those years were just my style...awesome. And I LOVE Sonny T. and Levi. They're awesome...I would have been honored to work with them. Heck, I'd be cool as the gopher...bump it....lol

Welcome home class. We've come a long way. - RIP Prince

Whichever was latest, so NPG.

I think the music was superb and didn't get the attention it deserves back then.

The Revolution or the noituloveR

Those were some really exciting times. pre fame or right in the middle of it happening.

They were and are still like a family.
But that was also the band that had extended musical community

so I would be touring/knowing the Time, Sheila E, the Family, Jill Jones, Vanity 6, Susan Rogers etc

The band he played with during the ONA/Musicology period was loaded with talent. Eric Leeds, Maceo Parker, John Blackwell, Ronaldo Neta, Rhonda Smith, Candy Dulfer, and I'm sure I'm missing a few more.

The Revolution was epic, and its own monster.

I'd want to be in the mid 90s NPG. Morris, Sonny, Tommy, Michael, and prince. Never has he had a band as tight and funky as that one. NEVAH!

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Wit nods to OldFriends4Sale and TrivialPursuit, I'd want to be in the Revolution pre-Purple Rain, maybe even before it was actually called "The Revolution". Dirty Mind/Controversy era to 1999. That would've been tight. Music was good, polished but still raw. You can tell they/he had the hunger back then. That's how I'm living now anyway, just feel like I would've fit in.

But 90's NPG, Gold Experience era, that would've been cool too. I like the music, again it was super tight, but I think what draws me to this band/era was not the sound or the style but the fact that Prince just absolutely did not give a fuck what people thought about him at that time. Mentally, this era was way more fuckin punk rock than any other IMO. I that.
