Jesse Johnson - Bare My Naked Soul = Awesome

So I loved Jesse's first three albums and often return to them but I never bought Bare My Naked Soul/ Don't know why?

About 12 years ago a friend gave me a copy. And I never listened it? Don't know why?

So yesterday I was going through my CDs looking for something to listen to. I feel a bit like I have gorged myself on Prince since he died and listened to nothing else for weeks and finally needed a break.

Anyway, I found Bare My Naked Soul and stuck it on...


It is an awesome album! Really bloody good!

It has a bit of a Lenny Kravitz vibe (which is no bad thing). I love it.

So now I want to check out Verbal Penetration. Any good?

I remember hearing it a few years back and it didn't really do much for me.

I like his 80s albums and have heard clips of Verbal Penetration which sounded funky. Keep meaning to check that one out.

Dont think I'll bother with Bare My Naked Soul again though.

I really really like the title track and "My Life" but the rest of the album just doesn't do it for me.

Verbal Penetration, on the other hand, is more my thing. 100 Watts of Funky is one of my most played songs on my ipod.

Wasn't crazy about "B.M.N.S" at first but over the years it's grown on me. Strong Hendrix vibe on some of the tracks...Would love to have a DVD from that tour..There used to be great concert clips on you tube (from that tour) but they're no longer up.

I believe Jesse wanted to release this on A&M, and They wouldn't. The CD is AWESOME!!!! I like it A LOT!!!!!

Played it to death for many years. I love Verbal Penetration too....Jesse just let loose.
