He was indeed, but it makes u wonder how long he wouldve lived if he had just stopped performing live

I'm sure many people close to him talked to him about it. But Prince was very driven, both in terms of creating music and performing. It was something in him which he had to do. But it is heartbreaking to think of how long he put with such a degree of pain. It's pretty undeniable now that painkillers played a major part in his life and, unfortunately, probably his passing too.

All these associates can kiss my ass. I wont be buying any of their stuff. I feel like they knew his circumstances for years and did nothing.

Sure u cant make an adult do anything, but at this point it appears none of them did ANYTHING to help Prince....just messed up. Hell its looking like his famiy didnt give a shit either.

I think that the people who worked for him and saw him on a daily basis should have tried a powerful intervention.He nearly died on that plane ride after the Atlanta shows!! That should have been the wake-up call for these people.

I mean were people really scared of being fired by Prince that they wouldnt try to help him? Shit is unreal. He couldve fired me, but if I worked at PP I wouldve at least tried to get help or convince him to get help years ago.

People learned nothing from the death of MJ and Whitney and that hurts my heart to know that Prince lived through their deaths and this shit still played out like this.

And why didnt his so called "religious brothers" know he was taking all this shit? Since they loved him so much....shit is sad.

i have hesitated bringing lg's name up, but if they were so close, doing bible studies for hours, etc. how could larry not see something? if not the pills, the pain, then the disability, something. this man gave to everyone around him, and when he needs someone, he gets fucking squat. words escape me "do i have a friend tonight?" --prince at his last concert in atlanta

I agree...these religious people he hung out with had to know, but I guess it was all about the money and not really about Prince. They couldnt have cared about him and still did nothing. He was in chronic pain and undoubtedly lonely and nobody cared...makes me want to cry.

I don't understand why not. It's a fairly common procedure. It might have saved his life.

Really? But JW do have surgery it's not against their faith.

There is no other good reason for him not to have the hip surgery except that they influenced him not to I mean Prince was a smart man and Im sure he made his own decision, but I feel like they had a part in that decision.

Serena Williams is a JW and she had surgery on her knee and also when she had a pulmonary embolism. Michael Jackson was a JW up until 1987 and he had a nose job by then. George Benson is also a JW and had a nose job. In Mike's case, he was going to destroy the Thriller video before it had been shown because the JW leaders said it was about the occult, but John Landis talked him out of it and came up with the disclaimer at the beginning.

I'm not totally sure, but I think people who are Christian Scientist are not supposed to see doctors though. The Amish generally don't use hospitals, at least the traditional ones don't. Maybe some of the younger ones do who are not as strict with following doctrine. They use alternative remedies like herbs.
