Honestly I think we all need to step back from the whole "Cashing In" talk because those close to him are feeling it much differently than we are. Many here are already talking about opening the vault, give us the last concert dvd and cd, give us this, release that, mix this, remaster that! And then we try and pass judgement on Shelia who met Prince way back in the late 70's, I mean come on these two were close, just like Morris who every day since has been sharing photos of this and that, you can bet something is coming musically from him soon too. This is HOW THEY work their feelings out, get together and jam or play etc... we need to worry about ourselves instead of someone's motives, its all guess work on how tight people were. Was Shelia engaged, how involved was Prince with Judith Hill the last few years, other women, his business.

Right. Let's even look at all the 'artists' who are creating Prince artwork/watercolored paintings etc

I guess they are 'cashing in' too to some of these people.
This is what artists do.

I don't see anything wrong with it at all. I think it's a good thing for everyone.

Looking forward to the cd!

In my opinion we would all as a Prince community show some love to all associated artists. Some of whom, like Sheila were and are musicians in their own right, just trying to keep a work focus and reach out to us, collective fans.

Prine's passing has been a very sobering experience for many, myself included. Let's please not turn against those who have worked with Prince.

If people were looking out for Prince, they'd not download or trade bootlegs, etc. Again, it's all hypocritical. We're all protective of Prince, but we're also just fans on the outside, doing what fans do - absorbing as much as we can because we love him. No one said boo when she put on a head scarf, dabbed on a beard with eye make up, and danced to a Linn-1 drum track when the Saints were going to the superbowl. The drum track straight up sounded like something Prince did. Everyone thought it was cool then, when he was alive. rolleyes

Joni's still in bad shape, isn't she? But, it'd be cool if she re-recorded "A Case Of U", using elements of his ONA arrangement.

Right, buy that stuff, and not the bootlegs

That's right, everyone loved that hot Linn response 2 Prince's Purple & Gold lol I think the Family did one too, but I never heard it.

Sheila E has been doing Koo Koo A Love Bizarre Erotic City the Belle of St Mark Olivers House the Glamorous Life even has done Pop Life & America in her live shows in the last 5yrs Everyone loves it

And I hope she does more. She is also consistent in working with/doing shows with people from that camp I love. She had the Family open a few shows with her, she's recently had a double show with the Time. She has always done live stuff with with Wendy & Lisa, had BrownMark on bass on a fw of her shows, did double shows with Dr Fink and his group. And when Bobby Z had his heart issue she jumped on a plain and went to Minniapolis to see him, as well as reached out to Brenda Susan Moonsie Apollonia & Jill at the time of Vanity's death.

She's always carried Paisley Park community in her heart.

Joni is better, Prince talked about her health issues last year how sad it was making him. Yeah and do something from Parade.

She's is trying hard now to stay relevant since the only platform that made her relevant - who was Prince - is gone. In order to stay relevant she is still using that platform, which is ok for the general public. For us fans it is different because we were not just random ass consumers. We were thinking and analyzing consumers. Sheila could be promoting her single without the Prince relevance, but I guess she knows she is not relevant. Besides, people forget she is a drummer and nothing else. Her relevancy is not more important than any of the other musicians he worked with, but Sheila thinks she is more than a drummer. Nobody in Prince camp really needed Sheila for too many years and Sheila will be even more irrelevant in the next 20 years. Her album sucked too.

Prince I will always miss and love U.

Well that is far from true. She has a very actively famous history since Prince

All it is a musical tribute. It's not that big of a deal that U all are making.

She is much more than a drummer.

Linn4days

Some people want The Revolution to cash-in...not Shiela?

Wow.

They all can do what they can..Do I agree with most of the lyrics now? No. Still, they were his clique...His "family". His workers. They helped him build this "world" of his...(even in the CD booklets and photos...) I used to think it was just a band named Prince. He recorded most of everything, but I do not see it as bad, or too early.

Maybe, they will all get together, and co-produce each other---in the true Paisle/Minneapolis or NPG Sound for a year of two...Like he was there... Like they were a label or a family. Like they would have tried to do--if they knew what was going to happen--that did happen.

She's taking nothing from his family or estate.

With or without Prince,Sheila will always be "relevent".She is known as one of the greatest drummers in the business.I cannot believe the way some of you are criticizing her disbelief She's a real musician with genuine talent, and yet you're acting like she's a complete nobody, smh.I understand that we are all shocked/angry about Prince's death, but let's not take our anger out on other artists.Sheila deserves better than that.

I have never regarded Sheila more than the rest of his protegees. The difference is she is a drummer at the same time, so she found ways to stay relevant with her Latin music, but other than that she has zero relevancy in the pop world. Prince brought her on stage because of their history, but Prince brought many people on stage that were irrelevant. In other words she has not more relevancy than Shelby or Andy Allo. This is my opinion of course.

Prince I will always miss and love U.

You could be right. I guess we are looking for someone to blame. Prince could have been saved if people were alert to his state. If they cared, if they seriously wanted to help, they could have. They were not. You can't just applaud and act like nothing happened at what they are doing.

Prince I will always miss and love U.

That doen't look like Sheila E. Why do I feel a certain way about her now? Is she trying to turn a buck at the memory of Prince? I get she is a musician and she would want to put her Prince inspired music out, so why do I have a side eye on her?

I agree since I read her book,I feel differently about her
