Prince and Shelia e relationship I always felt they was musically married, I love the chemistry on stage, they just seemed to get each other, prince may have been married twice, but it's amazing his stage wife continue until the end, maybe that's why they didn't marry because prince valued the deep ness they had and wanted her to always be around in a way, cause think about it if they did marry then divorce kind of hard to call ex wife and say hey want to do a show tonight?

Susannah has a natural beauty like Vanity (make up or no make up) earthy sensual
And I think she has just as much range and vocal skill as Jill.

GREAT PIC! i agree that sm has better technic, but her voice sound flimsy to me. jill's is more full bodied but lacks the finesse. [Edited 6/15/16 9:49am] Prince #MUSICIANICONLEGEND

Susannah Melvoin was an attractive lady no dobt..very earthy looking in the photos i've seen, but Vanity was everything; very beautiful, sexxy, exotic looking and very charasmatic..she really was in a league all her own in my opinion. ''The beautiful ones they hurt you every tiiiiime....''

Just as Prince's passing is hard for those of us who were teenagers or older during the PR era when P first got big, because we see one of our own "class" gone, it might've been that type of feeling P had when Denise passed. It feels almost unbelievable and is sad. The memories of the past and when that person was so alive, etc. like most of us Denise had changed over the years, we can't all stay young forever...I believe the Denise Prince was so crazy about years ago was that person during a moment in time. I get the feeling P had a real good side to him and felt for her. Had compassion for what she went through with her illness and maybe was a more quietly loyal friend who cared about her than he might ever say, especially given his privacy.

I was looking at a picture of them both yesterday and just couldn't believe they're both gone. They are in the same place now probably, and with others too. P is taking care of her.

Vanity = Sculpted beauty - Susannah = Hippy beauty - Jill = Dirty beauty - Brenda = Filthy beauty - And if it was me, I would walk into a place with Vanity...and walk out with Brenda ~Shakalaka!~..... ~Mayday!~

In the interview below Sheila explains a bit why she left Prince's band. http://www.christianheadl...40100.html I had left Prince's band anyway because I really felt his direction was wrong, I was uncomfortable, you know? I was changing and I knew something was missing, but I didn't know what. I knew that my life had to change and I didn't want to live that way anymore or be in that environment, where it was always so negative. It was just wrong. I'm curious to know more about this. What was she uncomfortable with and why was the environment so negative? Is that all about his struggles with Warner Brothers? Did she and Prince keep in close contact during the 90s Paisley Park is in your heart

Remember Cat also left after Lovesexy. Cat's interview lead me to believe that P's firing Steve Fargnoli was the thing that bothered her. she continued on with SF and tried to establish helf in London. It didnidn't't work out there either and she eventually parted ways with him. her comment was something like "he (p) told me to fire someone and i didn'tthink it was right. he tried to tell me to fire them but i didn't but in the end he was right. Another reason that Sheila left: throughout 1988,Prince was submitting new tracks to Sheila for her fourth Paisley Park album, but she didn't like the tunes he was coming up with."Where are the melodies?",she said. One of these songs is "Girl Power" which,I agree, isn't very good.
Oddly enough, the exact same thing was happening with Jill Jones.Prince was working on new songs for her second album, but she didn't like the songs and the direction. She went to London with a different producer and worked on new songs without Prince. He was furious.

Yeah I did some more searching on this and apparently Sheila said she didn't like the direction his music was going, didn't like that he was cussing and his lyrics weren't saying anything. But it sounds like they still remained friends during the 90s. Paisley Park is in your heart
