OK...initially I was touched that MD was constantly posting messages, clips, pics etc..lots of love shown etc....THEN he hits us with the 'lets keep the legacy alive...' tour announcement !! Am I alone in being super cynical in feeling that he is just going to milk this...maybe the Purple Rain character was true after all!!

Would love to see the original 7 in London BUT so soon seems crazy cynical..so I might avoid it..how about you?

no i think it's great that morris is coming to london, can't remember the last time he played here. i don't think it's the original7 though, morris tours himself with a band called morris day and the time.

.

i wonder what venue they will end up in, hard to predict level of interest in the UK, but of course it will be higher due to prince's passing. purple rain screenings are selling out all over the place here and people want to celebrate his music. morris/the time is part of that and they should be on tour if that's what they want to do!

.

I'd love to be proved wrong, but it's just over a month to the supposed dates and there are no details of where they're playing. I doubt the London gigs will happen next month...

Saw him in 1988. Can't remember much about the gig - just know that somewhere I've still got a "Morris Day" black poloneck with a zip collar - that late-80s staple.

Has he been back since then?

It was so long ago - really can't remember - but I'm pretty sure he sang Oaktree and also Fishnet from Daydreaming - I think that was the album he was promoting.
