Posting it here again to clear up all the speculation about Mayte

Mayte is fine.....she went to get a tattoo on Saturday as her own private memorial to her first husband and father of her deceased child. As many people know, whenever you get a tattoo you have a drink or two to ease the pain of the needle...as mayte is not an avid tattoo person, and NOT a fan of needles, she had a drink or two to get through it....this was also highly emotional for her as it was a closing of that chapter of her life. As you can see, she has not been part of any public memorials or news interviews. Her appearance at the single moms event was planned long before the passing of Prince and it was something she had to appear at as it honored her as the amazing single mother she is. But as you can see in the speech she had acknowledged his passing saying she did not want to discuss it.

She did have daughter Gia there as you can see in the video, but I was also there and driving and watching Gia. I would not let anything happen to mayte, as I have been pretty much since her divorce. She is fine and that tattoo was her way of finally grieving as she was not given a chance in minneapolis(she did attend a private memorial with friends and former band members, not the so called OFFICIAL one, which she was not invited to as the church was pretty much running that, and she was not part of the church nor would she attend an event run by the JW's).

So please do not look at this video as Mayte has to get things together and such, she has it together and her head is on straight, as she is raising an amazing child and rescuing countless numbers of dogs and other animals all by herself....any of you ever sit down and have a drink after a long week? Don't look so deep into this....its not that complex.

And by the way, she didnt sell her wedding ring or anything else Prince related for that matter, auctions were pulled down and she kept everything. Part of her reason for attempting to sell off these items was her attempt at moving on and using the items for a worthy cause, to fund her animal rescue and open a brick and mortar location so she can save more animals and give the public a chance at adopting these incredible animals. She is still working on this, but is accepting donations if needed at www.maytesrescue.com......so instead of chastising her for having a drink and getting a tattoo in her ex-husbands memory, how about donating to a cause that she, and he believed in too.....

I'm not a huge Mayte fan but I certainly wish her well and do not think that she owes anybody any explanations. Just help her to understand that she leaves herself open to mean spirited people when she makes these kinds of public appearances.

It's nice that you clear the air, but it's a shame you feel you have to. Mayte owes no one any explanations about her behavior as long as she's not hurting anyone, and it certainly doesn't seem like she is doing that.

Nice of you to provide an update but it certainly wasn't needed. Mayte is a grown woman with a PERSONAL history with Prince. She doesn't owe his fans anything in my opinion. She only owes herself peace of mind. IF getting a tattoo does it for her then I'm all for it. And even if I wasn't, it doesn't matter because it's not about me.

People kill me with their judgement and harsh words. Everyone is so quick to think the worst of others. They act as though they've never been deeply in love, heartbroken or suffered a devasting loss. I truly hope Mayte is ignoring all the ignorant comments being posted online. I also hope she knows that it's not everyone. I think alot of fans(die hard and casual) and the general public support her.

I hope we (fans) can remember that Mayte and Prince loved each other. They were married and parents to baby boy. Mayte deserves our respect for those reasons alone.

Personally, I hope she doesn't show the tattoo anytime soon. The public doesn't deserve it from what I've seen. Why give people the opportunity to hate on it? She should just keep it to herself like she did her son's name all these years. If we are lucky maybe we'll see it in a random photo eventually.

Great post and couldn't agree more, I have a few tattoos and each have a meaning for me and while I would love to see it , you are probably right...why give the haters something to feed off of . I fully support her and am very happy that now she has a tattoo to represent BOTH of her Princes . I know how much mine mean to me .

Both of her Prince's... That just made me smile. At least they are together now.

Wow. That was fast. Didn't think we'd see pics of the tattoo so soon. I can't really make it out but it looks nice. All the talk about drinking... heck she needed to drink!!! That tattoo is on the bone. I know that hurt like nobody's business.

Good for her. Life's short. You can't live for others. You have to do what you need to do for yourself. I hope she's found some meaure of peace.

Mayte's so beautiful. I wonder what the tattoo means? I know she said it was a symbol they had when they were together but just wondering what the origin is.

On her instagram you can see a video of the making of the tattoo ... It's like a flower with the love symbol in the center. I love Mayté but I don't think it's a good idea for her to be getting a tattoo of the symbol on her body, especially a place so visible.

It's gonna scare men off ... she's going to be single for the rest of her life!
