she is out of it here but the stupid reporter outside her home showed the state she was in - the idiot who said some crap about how they were here for her or some similar BS whilst grilling her for info as she tried to get in her car. like captiveunicorn it does seem like they had something amazing, Kevin smiths anecdotes showed Prince being affected after the split and not wanting to do songs she'd danced in.
I hope she finds peace and inspiration , new life and is able to hold onto happy memories. my heart broke when she was emphasising that she never considered him an ex as it was his decision and she was father of their child

I love Mayte, but I always held one thing against her, and that was the fact that she tried to get Prince, perhaps successfully so, to record less music. If you know Prince, you simply cannot do that, it is like taking water away from someone who is thirsty. Studio rehab my ass, recording music gave that man life, I thought it very selfish that she tried to take that away from him.

In my opinion, Prince finally realized this and understood that someone who truly loved him for him, would never ask such a thing, and ultimately this was a dealbreaker. Remember the lyric from 'She Loves Me For Me' in regards to Mani?

I never heard this before. Where does this info come from?

Mayte and Prince have mentioned it in several interviews, look at my revised post with the She Loves Me For Me lyric, Prince is speaking to it clear as day here.

I remember reading about the "studio rehab" comments too in various music magazines. P said his wife didn't want him to burn himself out with work (or something to that effect).

Hmmm she does appear a little er ... drunk x but I figured as she had her daughter there, that couldn't be the case?

I can see she is messed up over this - I wish her well and hope she is ok.

Anyway Mayte said her marriage to Prince was wonderfully bizzarre and controlling, so i guess its not THAT surprising she is this messed up. And of course losing her infant son..that was traumitizing on so many levels AND an anullment---why???? They had a kid together, how can you erase ALL that?????

I feel badly for her, i do, and her young daughter....mama needs to get it 2gether for that little girls sake. She got a second chance to be a mama, and thats a blessing.
