Are you sure about those dates because when I was reading various articles about her death they were all saying that she had a cocaine overdose in 1994, which she almost didn't survive and was in a coma for 3 days and that was where she said that she spoke with God and said he would save her if she gave up her past life as Vanity. I don't think she turned to religion till after the overdose and that was 1994. Or at least that what the articles were saying. See the link below:

I'll have to go check. In of the preaching videos, she says that everyone thought she got saved after the overdose but she said somewhere,that it was a year before the overdose. I'll go look and post the link. The overdose caused her to go deeper in her faith, but the journey started earlier. The Joan Rivers show that is 3 parts is from 1992, right? If so, that would've been before the overdose.

Well she really didn't "get saved" during that that first attempt if she was still using so much cocaine right? Just saying.....

Maybe that why the Minster was kind of calling her out because she knew she really wasn't embracing the whole "saved concept"?

I've been saying it all along this thread. The Purple Rain movie and music was about them and their story. She helped him script the basic story line. He looks to be looking up at heaven maybe? Maybe he is reflecting on how long before he can go there himself? Or maybe he thinking about Denise watching over him?

And just to clarify..Nikki and Vanity were not togther until 1997, Nikki had like 3 or 4 wives...he was married to someone else (playboy playmate) until 1996. They got married in 1989 and had 3 kids. Vanity and Nikki were together for a few years at best.

in his diary he says they were together NYE end of 1986. I believe she was seeing him earlier than that, it was not their first date. Your date is a decade later.

Sounds like they maybe aftethe coat exchange in the bathroom happened afterall and they came out of there with her as his "wife" I did see that interview with Donnie Simpson. Sounds like they maybe aftethe coat exchange in the bathroom happened afterall and they came out of there with her as his "wife" I did see that interview with Donnie Simpson. Wasn't that the one where she has a stuffed gorilla with her. I always wondered what meant. Didn't Apples call him "king kong" in the movie? I wonder if thats what she called Prince.

In the original script for Purple Rain Vanity calls him King Kong. Apples was just her replacement. She was good, but Vanity was the original, the blueprint.

Yeahb that was such a great interview..she was perfectly stunning and funny and yes had a toy gorilla and wore a coat of gorilla as well
