It is somewhat curious that the blind item said to be about Prince said that he had stopped taking medication for his illness about 2 years ago, believing God would cure him. Most people thought the religious people influencing him were JW and Larry Graham but I suppose it could have been Vanity and the Harpers. If there is any truth to this blind it could be one last way they mirrored each other.

Vanity lived 20 plus years passed the ''3 days to live..'' the doctors told her originally...without any kidneys at that...maybe Prince saw this as a sign of what only God could do, then when she died he just couldn't believe after all the years of her fighting the pain she was in (and loving her) she was truely gone and that just made him depressed? Sad.

This makes me think of Morris Days facebook page (or twitter) right after Prince died...one of the first things he did was post a photo of vanity and prince and just simply wrote underneath, ''together again'' did anyone see that? I wish i knew how to post photos

I saw it. For sure his close circle of people knew it. Perhaps Morris Day was in the group of "close friends" mentioned in NYT that were concerned about him being depressed over her death and his career growing stagnant.

This is great!!!!! But it was a different one, i think it was the day he died. She was licking her lips and they were side by side facing the camera..she had her head resting on his shoulder..might have been an out take from that rolling stone cover BUT not the cover shot.

From what i have read....they did talk by phone....he spent a few years trying to get her back (even when she was with Nikki Sixx according to his book) and i know after she became ill he covered some of her medical bills..that was said a few times over the years.

She also said in an interview that she spoke to him over the phone from time to time and apparently she was involved with him in some way towards the mid 2000's because his 2nd ex wife Manuella said she met Vanity and Vanity offered to help her with her charity...so they've been connected over the years...i'm sure even more than we know.

He was very private and when she was asked once about that on a Chrisitan radio interview..all she would say was that she has reconnected with many people from her past music life and when asked specifically about Prince, she said that it was private and that she wouldn't ever discuss such personal friendships...so i took from that they had spoken recently or she saw him. That was in 2013 i believe.

She wanted to connect with him face to face b4 she died.....i guess she figured God would make that happen one way or the other????? And he did 4eva.

I love these pics of them. You can tell they really had chemistry. This pic in particular, is one of my favorites. They look like they're just chilling out, laid back.

Definitely. There are some other pics of them somewhere on this forum. I don't know how to copy pics, but there is one of them on stage at the same time, I think it was the 1999 tour. Then there is a set of 2 or 3 pics of them in which I think they had stepped out of a limo, maybe to an awards show? Anyway, Prince is wearing white. I can't make out what she is wearing but Denise looks so beautiful. She is looking down and has a smile on her face. I think those pics are also on the 1999 tour thread. I'll look for them and make an attempt to bring those over.
