Andre Cymone on Prince's (or his) Do Me Baby Our friend and sort-of-manager Pepe Willie had a cousin or uncle who was a member of Little Anthony and the Imperials. I knew who they were because I was into them as a kid. Pepe said, “They are looking for songs.” I wrote a song that became controversial, in retrospect, because it became “Do Me, Baby.” I wrote that for the Little Anthony and the Imperials project. That song came out [on Prince’s Controversy] and I didn’t get credit for it. I had written it for a girlfriend at the time. She still has a copy of my demo.
I never got into all the controversy. I thought of it as we were all inspired by each other in the group, Grand Central. I brought things to the musical table, William, Morris, Terry, Charles, Linda, and Prince did too. I didn’t look at it as being ripped off.

. Yes we won't know how much of it he really wrote until we hear his demo.

If he did write it why he never wrote anything like it for himself ? That has a total prince sound. Did prince still a melody or groove?

He didn't mention anything about Frantic Moment [Edited 5/23/16 13:51pm] Yes, the song has elements of Franctic Monent by Eddie Hazel. I wish somebody would tell him so he can stop embarrassing himself. He also was not known as a ballad writer.

He said he wrote a song that become Do Me Baby. So, that could mean a lot of things. Perhaps Andre wrote the lyrics and Prince altered the music to something new (which would explain the Frantic Moment similarity, and it wouldnt necesarily be the first time a Prince song had similarities to something that came before), Like c'mon people. it doesnt take anything away from prince if he didnt write every single note hook melody and verse. I believe Andre. that's such a random song to lie about, why would he. [Edited 5/25/16 8:37am] "Where you are now is in a place that does not require time." - Rest In Power, PRINCE

That is a question that I ask of all the old Prince band members (employees) who claim major pieces of Prince's work and legacy. Andre's biggest hit and best record ever is one that made gave him (Dance Electric). Wendy all but takes credit for damn near half of everything from Purple Rain to Parade but have never done anything close to it in substance or quality. Save America - Stop Illegal Immigration. God bless America. PEACE

Why? Because the song sounds like Frantic Moment by Eddie Hazel a song neither Andre or Prince wrote. Not to hard to figure this out.

damn right. There is a reason that 30 years out their careers are barely there and Prince is the greatest musical legend in history. Save America - Stop Illegal Immigration. God bless America. PEACE

Entertainment can be that way, eh? One can be extremely talented but still not have any high earnings from sales or performance, even if they've inspired critically acclaimed works and/or have been a part of iconic traditions. And then there are those like Wendy and Lisa who have a fantastic career and are still winning awards in their respective fields in affirmation of their musical talents.
Actually, isn't Andre also a professional musican still to this day? I don't know how others qualify "much to show for it," but I don't know that the artists mentioned so far haven't had fulfilling and accomplished careers.
