the Vanity 6 album was really ahead of its time.It is a unique blend of funk,New Wave, pop and even a taste of early rap ("If A Girl Answers (Don't Hang Up)".The in-your-face sexuality was unlike anything the other girl groups were doing back then, lol.

IMO, she was THE best protege. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

Yeah. For me, Vanity 6, 1999 and What Time Is It? are the quintessential 'Minneapolis Sound' albums. As far as Prince music goes, in my ear everything prior was leading toward that sound, and every thing after was a reaction to it. Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com

Who owns the rights to Vanity 6's music and the name Vanity 6? "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

I'll give you 1 guess. FOOLS multiply when WISE Men & Women are silent.

Warner Brothers, right-cause Prince doesn't even have his own masters. I bet he owns the V6 name, though. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Do you think they will reissue the V6 album? I hope so. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

I think the Time has her beat. But I love them all, all different expressions of Purple Music
