I'm a fan of Andy allo's version but it doesn't compare to the original or the GB version . There's Joy in repetition

I prefer it over the GB version but my favorite version of that song is the one that is part of the rehearsal or studio recording where he plays Can´t Stop This Feeling I Go/Girl Of My Dreams/ We Can Funk......is that from 1986 or 85? Anyway....I really like Andy´s version. It´s like a whole new song compared to the GB version (I rarely listen to the GB version). She should´ve used the original title though.....Oui Can Luv just doesn´t make any semantic sense (Yes Can Love? ). I like her raspy voice, the way she sings those lyrics, and the acoustic guitar. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I love Oui Can Love, and would like to have that complete acoustic album. Why not put it on Tidal? What's with the 12 hours to find and download? Release it or don't. Top notch sreworking of a classic.

Have to say it is a superb album, Wild World and Fast Car just amazing. Really deserves a full release, not sure if getting permission for all the covers may be difficult to do.

Couldn't agree more. Acoustic suits this song surprisingly well. Andy's version is really quite beautiful. I could totally go for her doing an acoustic CD.

I like it because it's mellow. Slow and sexy. Easy for me to sing along to, because my range (despite it being outta tune ) is close to hers. However, the OTHER versions plus the GB version just can't be totally beat. But I love them all equally. I can never ever just pick one version.
Andy's version, though....I remember when either she or P posted it on FB some years ago, and I played it over and over. That got me interested in her as an artist. She is wonderful. I ain't been on the .org in a month o' Sundays. Lemme dust off my keyboard, baby!

I love Andy's voice and most of the tracks of this acoustic album but Oui Can Luv is def my favorite !
I wish they would do more in this direction, recording and performing......
.....in November it looked so promising when Prince "announced" the start for his Piano&Microphone tour should be in Vienna 11/21 - one day after Andy's concert in the same city ! This "smelled" like a possible surprise-gig of them maybe just wishful thinking on my side but who knows ?
Anyway, both concerts got cancelled/postponed because of the terror in Paris, Engisch ticket-scalpers or whatever other reasons

I never was a big fan of the version that is on Grafitti Bridge. I like George Clinton but I just do not like him on We Can Funk. And like you, I played Andy´s version over and over without getting bored. My favorite version of that song is the rehearsal version where Prince played three songs in a row but Andy´s version comes right after that. It is so addictive and I like her voice because it sounds so raspy and sexy. Not that she´s a great singer but I simply like her voice and much prefer it over many other, more talented singers. I´ve never been a big fan of "great" singers and voices. The feeling a voice gives me is more important to me. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Thanks 4 the link ! Nice song and all but the performance suffers a bit because of the playback imho
But this song reminds me of AOA and my fav track on it : Time ! It's just a pitty that it fades out right when it starts to get MORE groovy

Time is one of my favorite Prince songs of the last ten or twenty years. The lyrics may be a bit simple but I like the vocals of Prince and Andy, I like the bass and the beat, and in some weird way it reminds me of If I Was Your Girlfriend. I mean the vibe of it, not the lyrics or delivery. I like that slow and lazy , sexy sounding beat and wish there was a longer version of this song. Made me appreciate Andy Allo more because as part of the band she wasn´t really doing much, was she? But the songs she contributed to on AOA are really nice. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I also love the song she did with Miguel Migs. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"
