Prince, Miles Davis, George Clinton and Frank Zappa have a ton of material. I saw The Time twice in the mid 90s (without Jam/Lewis/Jesse/Jellybean) and the show was about an hour long. It was fun to see, because we in Europe never saw the original band and this was as close as we got. They played what you'd expect: The Walk, Gigolos, Cool, The Bird etc.

Cool. It should be a good concert. I just hope they play for more than a hour. I seen Sheila E at same venue about a month ago and she played for about 2 hours. She played some cover songs too. [Edited 1/21/16 11:27am]

Same here, I think twice in 96. It was great to see that band that I thought would never reform but on the other hand very disappointing overall: I expected long, funky jams and all the songs were pretty short, like 3-4 minutes, with zero jamming or impro. The only song to last more than that was a ballad (Gigolos I think), boooooring It was just a routine and it was pretty soulless. I had a similar disappointing experience with Zapp the following year. Now that was 20 years ago (jeez!), maybe the show is different now. I've seen them several times live. Morris has SEVERAL HITS TO PERFORM! Besides the two hits from Purple Rain. He has the ones from The Time. The first album had two hits alone plus album cut hits like The Stick. Then it was the second album three hits. Then as a solo artist he had three.More than enough for an hour and a half show.
Now with motivating him to play the drums again. Maybe he will join 's band NpG as the new drummer... will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

I've seen them quite a few times, but not in the last two years. If you like the band, you will like the show. They don't do covers. They play Time material and two of Morris's solo hits(The Oak Tree and Fishnet). Jellybean and Monte from the original line up are still in the band. Tori on guitar and Freeze on Bass have both been in the band since they got back together in late 95, actually they both go back even further to Morri's solo career. Jeff McNeely on Keyboards goes back a decade. They recently got somebody new to take over Jerome's role in the band. They don't have a opening band per say. They usually play there own gigs or festivals.

That would be HUGE! However, I think Morris has a very distinctive style, a bit uptempo no fucking around minimalistic funk beat with emphasis on THE ONE. A bit more uptempo and macho version of p-funk drums. He has that attitude that is a perfect balance to Prince on bass. Probably one of the coolest combinations ever. I'm not sure how he is at adapting to different styles though. Is this something he does well? I have only heard his nasty uptempo funk grooves. My Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/tundrah
