Doctor Fink Talks Prince and His Career Hello, check out my interview with legendary Prince and The Revolution keyboardist Doctor Fink. Dr shares a lot of exclusives from working with Prince, what it was like touring with Rick James, and his time in the band.

Pretty good interview. Mostly information that was already out there though. I'd love to see interviews with more former band members. Always cry 4 love, never cry 4 pain.

Matt is a fantastic guy and one of those people who seems very happy to discuss his time with Prince. I've interviewed him for my book (and for Uptown Mag) and he was always very open. I've also communicated with him on multiple occasions after the fact and I can't remember a time that he was anything but gracioius and helpful. Nice to know considering he's spent more time than almost anyone in the Prince camp and his knowledge stretches across multiple phases of Prince's career.
I'm looking forward to hearing the current interview with him. Congrats. The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. I've always had a soft spot for the Dr. 😊 "We just let people talk & say whatever they want 2 say. 9 times out of 10, trust me, what's out there now, I wouldn't give nary one of these folks the time of day. That's why I don't say anything back, because there's so much that's wrong" - P, Dec '15

Not everyone is as informed about Doctor fink or prince as you or I. I found a lot of things he said hadn't been shared When you do one, let us know.

Meh... Prince say you can't believe the former bandmembers. He said they lie on him. How do we know if they are telling the truth?

Thx. I was a bit disappointed though because it's always the same rehashed stories from the overdocumented 78-84 era, there was a great deal that could have been asked about Fink's following years with P (85-90), which are maybe slightly less documented. Overall my main regret is that interviewers basically always ask former associates from that era about things they've already talked about 10 times, while so many other things could be addressed. It was the same with the last Eric Leeds interview I've read a few months back: absolutely nothing a fan didn't already know. I also would have liked to learn more about Fink's few solo albums after his tenure with P. But it's always nice to spend some time with the good doctor; I wish him the best of luck in his future projects A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

I totally understand your point if the target audience of that video is the mainstream audience, people who don't know so much about Prince. But for us fans here there was virtually nothing new. No offense meant, it's just the truth. I think it could have been beneficial prior to the interview to come and ask fans on this board, people who've read all the books and interviews, what questions could be asked that could shed new lights on those years. But yeah, the interview was professionally handled and certainly very informative for the casual Prince listener. Maybe we're just not its target audience and if so please forgive the complaints, they're not meant to disrespect your work, just to express our perspective.
