I love this Jill Jones song ( the B side of the Mia Bocca single ). I don't know why it wasn't on her album as it would have been a great addition. I think the Mia Bocca music video is one of the best from the 1980's. It's so stylish and Jill looks stunning, unlike most videos from that period it's aged really well. Does anyone know if it won any awards for best music video? I want Paisley Park records to re-issue Jill's album on CD and include 77 Bleeker St. Probably won't happen tho!

Agree. Also loved the b-side "Baby Cries". And the 12"s were on fire during that era.

Both that song and Baby Cries (the other JJ b-side) weren't composed by Prince and were produced and recorded by David Z, and while nice songs, didn't reflect the high production standards of the rest of the album. I can pretty much understand why they were left out: they sounded much more generic than P's own work (as pretty much everything released on Paisley Park that Prince wasn't producing).

Prince does appear on guitar and possibly other instruments on 77 Bleeker St., though, one of his rare early appearance as a guest musician on somebody else's song. I'm not sure how much of a say Jill had on her own album's tracklist, but I suspect Prince was the one making the final call as to which songs would be on it and which wouldn't: it was his album as much as Jill's.

But who knows... if it was put on the album, and All Day, All Night was a b-side, you know someone out there would wonder why Al Day, All Night wasn't on the album and a track like 77 Beeker Street was included LOL! On my phone 77 Bleeker Street is the last song on the album, so for me it is part of the album.

You can't undermine the album's subtle bala nce like that

Baby You're A Trip is a perfect ending, in echo to the album's overture. Adding a song after that ruins the whole experience.

I love this song. Especially the 12 inch version.

This may actually be my fav Jill song.

Yup...77 Bleeker St has always been on "my version" of the Jill Jones album...
