Denise Matthews/Vanity in Action Jackson So Action Jackson was on Starz today so I DVR'd it to watch later. I've seen it before and just wanted to revisit it

anyway, I like the movie I truly understand why "wonderful ass"was written about her ,WOW!!! Action Jackson is a great film .thanks for making this thread .I've been collecting vanity movies and compilations as of late .She was great in "never too young to die " also There's Joy in repetition | |

It's one of the best action movies from the 1980's. I wish it would be released on DVD in the UK as u can't buy it over here or the soundtrack either. There were some great songs in it. My top 3 Vanity movies are ; Action Jackson, Neon City and The Last Dragon. | |

Vanity was on a roll in 1988.The movie 'Action Jackson' was a huge box office hit.Her two songs in the movie,"Undress" and "Faraway Eyes",displayed a whole new vocal confidence.She sounds great on those tunes.It seemed as if her career was finally going places,but alas,it went downhill from here. | |

When i was a kid she was a stand out beauty, my original girl crush. You didn't get to see a lot of her here in the UK, she was kinda wild, mysterious & fascinating. I haven't seen Action Jackson or Last Dragon in many yrs, only watched them for her parts in the first place tbh. I always just thought she was an actress. Didn't know she was a singer. When I was young I had Action Jackson on video (it was my brother's, I was more interested in Barbie's than bullets) so when I started looking up acts associated with Prince recently, and seen she was one of them, it was like "oh, I remember her". | |

Those 2 Songs She sang in the Movie were written by Jesse Johnson: "Undress" & "Faraway Eyes". Just makes Me wonder what could've happened if Jesse did a WHOLE Album on Ms. Matthews! Would've been a Funk CLASSIC!!!!

I agree.He really brought out her vocals in a way that her previous producers never did.Imagine if Jesse along with Jam and Lewis produced a Vanity album!! It would have been her biggest album. | |
