Judith Hill and Kirky J.? There's a Judith Hill EPK on Tidal right now and it sure looks like Kirky J. is her drummer. If so, he's gotten waaay more pleasant to listen to. I never saw the album credits since I don't think there are any to see, but I suppose it wouldn't be too far of a stretch to imagine Prince giving him a call to work on her record.

Kirk Johnson has always been a solid drummer (I hesitate to call him Kirky J, because it almost comes across like an insult now). The org completely maligned him to the point of the truth being irrelevant to many. The ultimate (and ironic) respect for him came when Michael B was posting on here and said he thought Kirk was one of the best drummers in the Twin Cities. None of the naysayers want to believe that though. Glad to see that P is still giving one of his old friends some respect and work. (BTW...That's Chance Howard on keyboards in Judith's band, as well. He played in the NPG in the mid 2000s.)

I saw Judith Hill play at Paisley Park earlier this year and Kirk was her drummer for all 3 shows. He is also "building manager" at Paisley Park and has been for several years. TRUE BLUE

Wasn't Kirk like prince best man at one of his weddings? I don't think Kirk ever went away I think he just went behind the scene I have heard Prince refer to him as best friend

I thought Kirk was an okay drummer. I didn't care for his drum programming and I didn't care for his live drum sound back then. He sounds really good now.
