3rd EyeGirl < Cree Summer Dug into my archives and pulled out the Cree Summer album that Lenny Kravitz produced back in 1999. It sounded so good and it made me wonder how it was so much better than Plectrum Electrum. Lenny actually seems to beat Prince with the rock chick album when you compare them - despite the 15 year difference in age. It made me thin of how sick I am on 3rd Eye Girl - probably the most overrated chicks since Wendy and Lisa. | |

I disagree that wendy & lisa are overrated. They stayed in their lane though and i love them for that. In so many respects they were absolutely perfect for the time/place/project and then they went off and did they own thang they own way. Love them! | |

I bought Cree Summer's album back in 1999, and saw her open up for Lenny in concert...I wasnt really impressed, but the song "Sweet Pain" was/is friggin amazing! As for 3rd Eye Girl, I bought AOA and Plectrum the day they came out. I listened to AOA maybe twice and I still, to this day, have not listened to Plectrum. I'm looking at it right now, wondering if I should throw it on. Maybe one day... Make it so, Number One... | |

Well Lenny is better at Rock than Prince is so it is not surprising. Thanks for the post. I will check out this album as I have not heard it either. thanks | |

While I dont know that Lenny is bettr at anything than Prince, I did want the PE album to be THAT Prince rock album since he was apparently going for the Jimi Hendrix Experience vibe with the lineup. He should have recording the real rock album with the NPG trio from the Undertaker - they crush 3rdeye. | |

I worked in a record store and every time we played it people asked me to turn it off. | |
