Hate to sound so shallow but he is HauGE. With that getup, he does himself no favours. He also looked odd playing the guitar and twirling around like he was. I could not help but think- Prince!!

Makes me admire Prince even more, discipline comes to min bs.

I actually felt he was going to fall because he looked so uncoordinated. Jesse is a guitar killer as always. What I don't understand is that Alan Leeds is D's road manager. How is D'angelo and the band's clothes any different than Prince's getup on SNL last November? If I can take D seriously as a musician in that Desperado get up, then I can take P seriously in whatever he wears. Other than that, Jesse-BRAVO!

"playing the guitar and twirling around like he was"...yeah I thought about P too when he did that (lol)...As said in the other thread, D was probably nervous playing in front of a studio audience. That was his first performance in a long time..I enjoyed it and Jesse played one of the best solos that I've heard him play live..I must have replayed his fade out solo back 15 times in a row.

Funny to me was that no one will know that the guitar player is so accomplished a solo act himself. To me, Verbal Penetration is something that D'Angelo could hope to make. I admit, i have nbot listened to the new D CD but how could it top VP by Jesse?

Yes "Verbal" is great..I think D and Jesse were cool with one another around the time Jesse did V.P...Maybe D influenced him??..Maybe Jesse wanted that R&B radio airplay again??..(just speculation)...I really hope Jesse does another CD soon...I've been really digging "Black Messiah"...Great songs and a nice vibe.

You should listen to it as it definately tops VP. Its easily the best R&B album in YEARS!! This album is smoking hot and it gets better with every listen!! You should give it a try. R&B music has been sucking for a while and D'Angelo is back with a vengeance!!

Agreed, Verbal Penetration smokes the D'Angelo record.

I can go with that but the one thing that bothered me about that records were all of the loops. It was like Jessie soloing over 4 minute loops.

FOOLS multiply when WISE Men & Women are silent.
