Record sales reflect there is no demand for this act.

I think the casual fan could care less who is in Prince's band. For concerts, they are there to see Prince. 3RDEYEGIRL is not my favorite backing band for Prince, but they definitely lively up a concert more than the past few reincarnations of the NPG. TRUE BLUE

I wish Prince would fire the Plectrum "garage" band, Prince 4Ever.

Not sure, we can only speculate...
The only things we know are, no upcoming tour announcements. Radio silence since all social media was deleted. No tweets from the girls on the issue, and the dissapointing low album sales and very short chart life of Plectrum Electrum.

This surprises me - that on this board, with so many knowledgeable people, that not one person knows someone that knows someone that knows anything? Nobody is friends with Donna's cousin or gardener or something?

ya casual fans won't care about his backing bands in this age. Prince been promoting them like they could blow up which isn't realistic.

People went to concerts to see Prince not 3rdeyegirl

exactly, that in this day and age, he/they are able to keep a secret

I hope not, the album wasn't great but the hit and run shows were thrilling. I think there's potential with the band, and they can probably crank out a good album or two. Plus, I love rock Prince. Hundalasiliah!

yes..the album was good..but a 2nd would be even better

If there will be a 2nd 3rdeyegirl album, It won't sell well though. We can already project that

Lovesexy provided one of his best tours eva..No sales there for album

One of his best tours indeed... But the only tour to put him in debt at the end of it.

Unless Prince is reuniting The Revolution or something similar, breaking up 3EG is a mistake.

I feel kind of like they are a musical version of the Twinz. He keeps them around for mostly eye candy or for something other than himself to stare at while performing live. They are all pretty hot. Hell, I would not even toss Ida out of bed. They are all pretty good at playing their instruments too but this rock stuff just isn't working for him. It sounds like they just sit around reading the shitty bible or something and then try to write rock songs. I bet Donna is over it.

It is like every other project, band , and artist that Prince has ever worked with: by the time we are tired of them, he has already moved on to the next thing. Remember Tamar? Thank God that was brief. These broads were almost lame and simply made Prince looks as though he was pandering to the teeny bopper set. I hope they are all gone.

Completely unimportant for me. I'd be happy if they'd release a second album. [Edited 1/7/15 17:18pm]

I was wondering about this too.Where are the "insiders" at? Surely there has got to be some people on this site who know the girls,and/or knows what's going at Warners with the PR remaster.

It is important to Prince though. He wouldn't be happy if his next album flopped

i think hes not going to totally abandon the girls
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
But that is what he tends to do You get an album or two and then you are gone. There's a long history of female associated artist/former lovers that can speak to that A robin sings a masterpiece that lives and dies unheard...

The 4 3rd Eye Girl shows that I saw were fantastic, but that mostly has to do with the setlists...any show where P pulls out Dolphin, Endorphin Machine, and Cause and Effect (which y'all are sleeping on HARD) is gonna be killer in my book. That being said, I'll always prefer the NPG. The NPG aftershows that I saw were mindblowing, with Shelby and Maceo making the room levitate. The moral of my story is...long live the NPG! Occupy Alphabet Street!

imo the 3EYE projects are interesting, deeply danceable and a ton of fun. i hope to see prince collaborate with these ladies in future, but if not, i plan to follow their work if they stay together.
