Apollonia 6 Mr Christian Unreleased Video Wow! Just stumbled upon this today and didn't even know it ever existed. Very interesting, funny and bizarre video. In other words...typical Prince. The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

That video is part of an unreleased 1985 project that also includes videos for "Blue Limousine","Ooh She She Wa Wa" and an entirely new video for "Sex Shooter" (different from the one that was released).I guess you would call this project a "video album".Such a shame that it wasn't offcially released back then.

Apollonia 6 filmA mini film project as four-track video was filmed, loosely based on the Apollonia 6 album. It was directed by Brian Thomson, an Australian production designer of the original stage versions of The Rocky Horror Show and Jesus Christ Superstar, and scripted by Keith Williams (concept writer for music videos by Phil Collins, Ray Parker, Jr., and Donna Summer), with a cast comprising Ricky Nelson (as "Mr. Christian"), Edy Williams and Buck Henry. Shot in a Los Angeles film studio in 1985, and produced by British video firm Limelight, the video never went beyond the rough-cut stage. The songs featured on the film are "Happy Birthday, Mr. Christian", "Sex Shooter", "Blue Limousine" and "Ooo She She Wa Wa". The plot introduced three lingerie clad widows gathered to listen the reading of Mr. Christian will and testament which leaves them nothing and encourage them to work. The imagery and set is very 1960's revamped into 1980's colorful graphic trends. The scenes show prominent neons words such as 'FILL' at a gas station for "Blue Limousine", where Brenda Bennett has the main vocal role, 'EAT' at a diner's for "Ooo She Wa Wa", where Susan Moonsie leads while the two other find themselves struggling in front of piles of dirty dishes to wash. The part featuring Apollonia as leading role feature the word 'BUY' in a supermarket set.

Warner Brothers abandoned the entire Apollonia 6 album, period! There were some more potential singles on that album besides "Sex Shooter". "A Million Miles" and "Blue Limosine" could have made some noise if properly promoted. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

I agree.I think when "Sex Shooter" didn't become the big hit that they expected, they lost interest in the project.Such a shame, because I think "Blue Limousine" could have been a major smash.

Although I always dug "Sex Shooter", I thought it was not a good choice as an intitial single. First of all, Apollonia didn't have an interesting voice. Vanity was not a great singer but Vanity's voice was more inviting, if you will, than Apollonia's. Second, I think the song was just way too rique for that time period. Remember the big uproar Sheena Easton caused the same year with "Sugar Walls"? They refused to allow her to perform it on American Bandstand. Sheena got a monster hit out of it but the lyrics weren't as in-your-face as "Sex Shooter". "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

I remember in 1984,being overwhelmed by all these female sex songs Sheila E. raised eyebrows on "Erotic City",then Vanity releases a song about pre-mature ejaculation ("Pretty Mess") and then finally,Apollonia 6 comes out with "Sex Shooter",lol...what a crazy year!

From what I've read had nothing to do with it, he already had moved on and had little interest in the A6 album given that he knew The Time and A6 were dead projects by the release of the movie (he was more into Sheila and ready to move on to new projects such as The Family). WB decided to do this mini video album but for some reason gave up on the project before completion. The rushes are most likely dormant in WB's vault, not 's. It's even unclear whether this was aimed at MTV or at a home video release. It would be nice to clean the tape and add what's been leaked on an A6 remaster but I doubt it'll ever happen (the video, not the remaster). I think Sex Shooter is pretty tame compared to Sugar Walls lyrically I guess for the sake of the movie it had to be released as the single but like SoulAlive said, Blue Limousine should have been the hit
