Donna Grantis

  • So there is a slew of phenomenal videos of Donna Grantis shredding her guitar on the web. I recently dowloaded her Suites album which is fantastic if you're a fan of the electric guitar.

  • Anyone else appreciating this chick's incredible talent?

  • I wasn't all that intrigued by this 3EG thing at first until I recently started looking up each of the girls online. They seem pretty well rounded musically, but of the three of them I was most impressed by Donna, I guess because I'm biased of how the electric guitar sounds vs. a drummer or bassist soloing. Not that I don't enjoy either of the latter, but the guitar is probably the most technical to learn & play of the three instruments in my opinion.

  • Anywho, I just wanted to see if anyone else is just as enamored with her guitar playing as me, plus I thought she deserved a thread around here, since I've seen some folks giving her some pretty harsh criticism.

Donna is extemely well rounded in music as far as the electric guitar goes. She can shred like no tomorrow and she is really good looking by the way. She doesnt have an easy job. She has to play alongside Prince who has nearly 40 years of experience. But she does her job very well. Def. the backbone to 3rdeyegirl out of the 3 members.

she inspires me, they all do. i like how it seems she's really become more comfortable in the band, she is really on it now. i like what i've seen of her b4 3Eg on the web, intelligent and beautiful. amazing skills. each of them is like a phd in her instrument. makes me 1der if i should focus on one instrument.

If you check out the Donna Gratis Electric band's album (she's put it all on Soundcloud) and listen to the track Elektra: it is Plectrum Electrum. Recorded before she was with Prince.

Yeah it's the Suites album I mentioned before, it's on iTunes too, sorry I should've at least mentioned the name of her band - shame on me. I didn't realize it was on Soundcloud too, thanks for the info.
