Okay, I just watched it and without giving away too much (no spoilers here!), Mayte basically talked about a garage sale that she had where she's selling Prince stuff like paintings, her wedding china, etc. She said she made about $15,000 for it.

There's more in the interview but I'll write it later once most of you have already seen it.

It's not you. You can be as respectful as possible, but either 1) some over the top mean spirited poster will come in, or 2) an overly sensitive mod will come in 3) or, you will (respectfully, of course) possibly express some negative response to the interview, then #1 & 2 are even more likely to occur.

Yeah I saw she sold their wedding china and heaps other stuff like t shirts and stuff. I didn't see anything personal apart from the wedding china... I am surprised she held onto it for so long.

You didn't see the painting of Prince that she sold? She also talked about what it was like going from "celebrity" status as his wife to suddenly not being with him and not getting the royal treatment anymore. It was odd that she had so many items that she shared with Prince at one point. Maybe she just needed publicity for her reality show

Thanks for the letting us know I thought she was still selling stuff on her fb page, like that black and white shirt they showed on one of the earlier seasons of her show?

There might be a link to the TMZ live show that you can find on their website. But, from what I could tell, it seemed that she had just finished selling stuff at her house. She had some stuff like a random "symbol" bricabrak type of thing. Harvey Levin also asked her about the divorce situation with Kevin Hart and his first wife. She didn't say anything specific about it but I find it quite odd that she has managed (and others have manage) to have a reality show based on the fact that she was married to someone famous. She said from ages 18-25 she was in the "Paisley" world...

I think in years past this was the case but with the advent of reality shows, you can be pretty mediocre and have a pretty decent life. There are plenty of reality stars out there who are probably in need of a better education but as long as they are getting those paychecks, I suspect that they will hang on to their crappy shows for as long as possible.

I don't have a problem with her selling stuff, it's her right. But, as someone else said, sometimes it can be awkward to see certain celebrity ex-wives still ride the coattails of their famous husbands. A few years ago, Mayte was on a dance reality show and she didn't have to ride Prince's coattails to get it. But, that show is canceled (I think). I wonder how long this ex-wives show will be on the air, probably a lot longer than her dance reality show. Hasn't it already been 15 years since the divorce? Why didn't they bother to get Prince's 2nd wife on that show too?

Right, Manuela. You said she was on the show once? I wonder if I can find it online somewhere but I'm too lazy to look I think there should be a cutoff time before "recruiting" the exes. I mean, it's been over a decade since Mayte was married to Prince and they are still putting her on this reality show?

This kinda makes me wonder if Prince watches this reality show or not. Maybe his lawyers are watching! I thought the wives had to sign non-disclosure/confidentiality agreements. I don't think she's said anything that would require her being sued by Prince's camp but I would bet dollars to donuts that they are watching her (and not Manuela), in case she violates any agreement that she may have signed. How much did Mayte get from the settlement?

Yeah I agree. I think part of the issue with Mayte is that she was really, REALLY young when she met Prince. She's was still very much a kid, so to speak. By then, Prince had already experienced mega-stardom. I think that played a big role in how they met and ultimately stayed together. She was getting used to (albeit minimally) the limelight that came with being with Prince. I am sure on some level she cared about him deeply, but maybe it was just one of those things where Prince wanted someone much younger on his arm. But, when Emancipation dropped, he made it pretty clear that he was over the moon. It seems like the entire Emancipation album was all about Mayte. We can only speculate about the nature of the relationship but I think they were both wearing rose-colored glasses and saw a mutually beneficial arrangement....

I found out that there's going to be an Atlanta Exes reality show and Kevin Hart's ex-wife is on the show. Interesting that at the same time they announce this show, she's making her runs with all the tabloid shows to bring up issues that she has with Kevin. They haven't been together in five years! What a joke!

Yeah I think some famous (or formerly famous) folks get desperate to remain relevant. But, it's hard to stay relevant if you're not paying off the media in some way to keep your name current. For the life of me, I can't get over the fact that some "celebs" are in the news EVERYDAY while others just fade into obscurity.
