I love this track! It's from Sheial's third self-titled album. Can't find much info on it though. It totally sounds like a Prince production but I've read that he only was involved in 5 tracks from that album and this wasn't one of them.

Anyone have any info about this one?

The music is great,too.Very funky and lively,like alot of Prince's 1986 material.

This album is Sheila's strongest,most consistent album.It's her best work.Such a shame that it was released at the same time that she was putting her solo career on hold to play drums for Prince I would have liked to have seen her go 'all the way' with this record and give it the promotion/attention that it deserved.

I love it, 1/2 the songs on the album sound like Uptown, the other half sound like good 1980s music

Hon E Man, is funky, This song & album are a reason I have bittersweet ideals of the Revolution break-up. the protege scene just fell off the map. And it looks like Sheila E was getting geared up for this album with commercials and such. mid-late 1986 She was already wearing the clothing for this period. Sort of a mix of Parade & SOTT.

Too bad. the Lead single was a big hit on the radio and on the charts for a good period of time.

yeah,"Hold Me" did very well on the R&B charts.If there had been a video,it would have done even better.That song took everyone by surprise.No one expected Sheila E. to come out with a sultry,sexy slow jam.This album could have been huge if it had gotten more promotion.Songs like "Faded Photographs" and "Love On A Blue Train" deserved to be singles.

Sadly underrated and one of her best efforts - if not the best, in my opinion.

Plus, she was damn hot on that cover! I had a poster made from it when I was in high school and it proudly hung on my wall until I went off to college.

There are many good songs on it, and it makes me sad now because it seems like a by-gone era we'll never see again, on so many levels.

I remember back then,I was shocked to learn that Sheila was gonna be Prince's drummer.She had spent the previous three years establishing herself as a red-hot solo artist.It was kinda disappointing to see,although it did benefit Prince alot.He had an incredible band with Sheila in it.

True, but I think it was more than a slow jam, it really is a 'ballad' type song, and she did well with the vocals. Better than I thought.

I guess Love On a Blue Train was the lead single in 'Japan' I believe. That's also where she did a commercial and the song was it's music.

My favorite and cohesive is Glamorous Life, I just love that Purple Rain touch

But this album is my 2nd then Romance 1600

I too felt disappointed with the drop of this to play drums for Prince

the protege scene always added a nice extended world to what was happening on Prince's albums
