Well, as a female I don't want a date with neither...but I can give props, and say Vanity was a natural beauty with a unique sex appeal. She just had it. IMO, nobody has yet to do sexy confidence better than her. I've heard people say she didn't have any curves...I will tell those blind ones to watch Action Jackson. Vanity's body was althetic and curvy. She had"junk in her trunk".

Apollonia was pretty and she tried to play the sexy role - that's the difference between her and Vanity. Apollonia was also very stiff. To those that say Apollonia had a better body....to each his own, but she had no curves. Just the fake implants that she purchased.

Apples boobs are (or were) real back then. You can always tell a natural breast by the way it hangs, and hers used to hang like the real deal. She may have gotten implants later on because, hey, with age breasts tend to sag, and she is in a looks-driven field. Ironically, it was Vanity who supposedly got implants. I believe it was sometime in the mid '80s. She had absolutely no boobs when she was leading V6, and then when she did 52 PICKUP, ACTION JACKSON and the Playboy spread, she had what looked like a nice high B/small C cup.

Apples seems like a cool chick you can actually have a convesation with. Vanity seems like a chick that when she starts talking you have to nod and slowly back away from.

Exactly my thoughts.

I have always found Apollonia to be much nicer and hotter than Vanity. Sure, she was just a substitute for Vanity but I preferred her over her and I´m glad Vanity wasn´t in Purple Rain. But then again, who knows, maybe Vanity would´ve added a whole different dynamic to the movie. I like it as it is though.

Apollonia is so replaceable and has no charisma. She's more of a 'girl next door' type of girl. So if u're into that, fine. Unlike Apollonia ,Vanity was charismatic, raw, sensual, very playful, the girl had moves and curves. She had a natural sex appeal, charm and seemed too be far more interesting then Apples. I think Prince can confirm that one

It seems to me that Apollonia's boobs were real till late 85/86. Just look the 1986 AMA's u'll see the obvious change.

Right...you can always tell, and I can tell she had a boob job back then. There is a big difference between her Purple Rain/Sex Shooter days and her bigger boobs a few yrs later, as seen in the pics the other person posted.

I never denied Vanity had a boob job. My point was the only thing that stood out about Apollonia were her implants. Vanity was a stand out naturally, the boob job didn't do anything to enhance her beauty, they were just there.

Not saying you were denying anything, sweetie. I was just pointing out the fact that V got them as well. Of course it didn't add to or detract from her beauty. As for A, she has always had big boobs. I tend to believe that she didn't get implants until the '90s, because they were REALLY noticeably bigger then. It could've just been the cut of that deep plunging neckline from 1986 making her boobs look bigger.

Apollonia came off as sexy but sweet. A nice girl at heart. I think that was part of the success in appealing to a broader audience. Prince needed people around him to offset his creepy vulgar, aggressive in-your-face sexuality. Vanity couldn't do that. She via Prince's doing seemed to also represent the seedy vulgar psychotic side. I really do not think Purple Rain would have worked with her even if she could stay sober long enough to film her scenes.

I'm sure both are wonderful people, but Vanity seemed to have been around Prince for far too long for her own good. Apollonia haven't been around his crazy was a breath of fresh air and able to offset his creepiness.

Apollonia is for having fun and conversation with, Vanity is strictly for fuckin' and then leaving right after. Plain and simple.

I prefer Vanity.Her 'nasty girl' image seemed genuine.She was truly outrageous,just like Prince As a few of you have pointed out,Apollonia was "nicer".She would have never felt comfortable singing a song like "Nasty Girl".Maybe the Purple Rain movie needed a lead female who wasn't too outrageous and wild,lol.It worked,but I still wonder how the movie would have been if Vanity had appeared in it.

They both were the hottest and most alluring women in the entertainment world in the 1980's.

I think Vanity has the better singing voice and in terms of acting ability and beauty they are on a par with each other.
