not by a long shot. they're ok.
when mentioning best, it all depends on which angle you're coming from. the Revolution and Lovesexy bands were his best overall. the NPG was his best technical band.

I think all his bands had their plus and minuses. The Revolution was great for being rock solid behind him, letting him shine. The SOTT/Lovesexy band had a lot of talent, one of his best bands. The first NPG was an old school funk band, to me. The kind that could play everything and make it funkier than the original. I think the NPG with John Blackwell and Renato Neto had the musical pedigree, but seemed like they were just going through the motions. I also think the verdict is still out on 3rd Eye Girl. Are they eye candy? A gimmick? We'll see how long they last together. I think Hannah's an ok drummer, Donna is probably a better guitarist now than she was when Prince found her (or whoever found her). Ida was already a great bass player, and probably brings some experience to the group. Just my $0.02 Chas

Their recent posts on twitter suggests they broke up. If so good luck to you girls. It was truely a great ride!! I will miss you. You rejuvenated Prince for a short time. Its too bad we have nothing to document your era. Its a damn shame for sure!!
