Good for them but I still find it weird to have poeple tempering with demos after the artist's death. Even if they're too unfinished to be released as such I wish said demos were at least released as they were on a bonus CD. I had real mixed feelings about Michael. Now here at least the people involved really rock so it may rock! And I'm glad Eric and Jesse get that much visibility! But still...
One big reason this song sucks ass michael jackson would of never worked with them b/c of the prince connection he distanced hisself from prince sound and working with all those prince wanna bee is not something michael would do and Mary j and michael doesn't sound promising this record should of happened minus michael

The deluxe edition has the original demo's on the second disc, which I'm very pleased and excited about.

Sadly not. However, there's some fan made blends of "Behind The Mask" that come pretty close, mixing the 2010 album vocals with the "Behind The Mask" instrumental by Greg Phillinganes, which is the same music as MJ's original version. One of these versions was made by me, but I never finished it. Somebody else took the baton and completed it with the same methodology.

He's the one who reworked the 2010 version of "Behind The Mask" for the Michael album as well as this new MJ/D'Angelo/Mary/Jesse/Eric track.
I haven't as yet, but I'm friends with Matt Fink and we've talked about it, so maybe we can make something happen!
There are no word for how much I despise the MJ Estate. I believe there is a special spot in hell waiting for those guys. Massive money mismanagement, preying on MJ's kids and family, terrible creative decisions.... I can't figure out why they are putting an album out at all other than as a quick grab for cash to cover their enormous tax bills. My guess is the public will see it for what it is and ignore this project. I can tell this track is shit from here and I haven't even heard it yet. How do I know already? Michael Jackson didn't use these type of musicians... EVER! So whatever they "produced" around some random half finished MJ demo, which clearly had incomplete stand in vocals never meant for final production, is more than likely a steaming pile of not right. MJ was a perfectioinst, especially about his vocals and we can reasonably assume if the vocals were right we wouldn't need additional lead singers. This should not be happening.
Remember "My Last Chance" the hit song produced around a Marvin Gaye demo, released 5 years after his death, but produced to MG's standards. You could never really tell, if no one told you that massive creative decisions were made to reach a style reminicent of something Gaye himself might have done to complete the track. Natalie Cole's duet with Nat King Cole brought Nat back for a new generation but sacrificed nothing in terms of the artistic integrety of Nat's original tracks. There is lots of demo level material out there by deceased artists, that have not been released because, you know, they are DEMOS. Does Michael get that type of respect.... NOPE.... His jackass lawyers license anything they think glorifies their own egos. Crony system. Well I for one am already snickering at these "artists" for trying to attach themselves to MJ's legacy, post-mortem without his permission. Prince should take note. When he passes I hope he leaves brhind a mandate to burn the vault, so that we won't be treated to some crackhead wannabes "production" of his unfinshed master tapes.

Oh, on a sidenotre I wanted 2 ask u regarding the other convo we had about Vevo: what I don't get is... Kobalt is not (AFAIK) a subsidiary of Universal nor Sony, so how come THEY have access to Vevo (FixUrLifeUp and Breakfast Can Wait) and NPG Records doesn't? After all NPG Records is technically a label even if it's mostly centered around a single artist, so if indie labels such as Kobalt can access Vevo, why couldn't Prince thru NPG???

I think they are ignored for a reason. They might work fine in an enviroment created by Prince (where Prince plays most instruments anyway). That doesn't mean they would do a great job as session musicians playing all kinds of music. Eric is perhaps the best musician of the bunch, but even he is completely ignored in the jazz world.

Will do! With regards to VEVO, I don't know the ins and outs of it, but I should think it's as simple as Kobalt having done a licensing deal to provide their video content to VEVO, and NPG haven't done so - and probably shouldn't, IMO, it doesn't make sense for a small label with a small stable of artists.
