For the Vanity fans, I thought you might be interested in this. This past month, Denise started selling all kinds of items, from clothes, jewelry, purses/clutches, pins, collector's items and autograhped pics to raise money for the republishing of her "Blame It On Vanity" book. Some of the items are from her Vanity days, such as the walking stick and various pics. She even listed a purse Prince bought her and a pair Jordan's her ex husband bought her. You can find pics and descriptions of everything on her facebook, while her twitter and instagram have some of the items. The items are being sold directly by her and not on ebay or something so you'll need to contact her by email if you want anything. I will say she has a lot of beautiful stuff lol

I guess that's one good way or raising money. I tried that when I was broke. Didn't have too many things though, nor were they nice things, just stuff.

Being who she is, I wonder if she might do well.

Why would she re-publish this book? It wasn't exactly a best-seller.

i have the book, she sent it to me free with her autograph inside the cover about 3 or 4 years ago. the book is sort of difficult to read. it's all over the place, and only has a small section that mentions prince. you can tell though that she had a very difficult childhood, very sad!

My first thought as well. Its why I could never get on board with anyone's born-again/bury the past BS -- it just never rings true in the long run for me.

Yep. Seems like she's lacking things like autographed press photos, press kits, magazines, perhaps some autographed albums, etc. Things that fans might be more interested in that would have brought in more bread. Somehow, I don't think most of her male fans would be interested in her old purses.

I agree! I get tired of that whole "I'm-born-again-and-I-am-leaving-my-past behind" crap.If it wasn't for those old records and her previous fame,we wouldn't even know she is! It's never a good idea to downplay all that.

Denise is a friend of mine and I intend to support in any way that I can.

RIGHT ON! SoulBrother... Furthermore, Denise is always surprised over what she had stored over the years, and is surprised over what many family members have saved. However, I doubt very much that she will be autographing the Playboy Magazine that I know one of her sisters saved.

Seriously, most orgers have nothing but love for Denise. Vanity was a big part of our musical lives growing up and I wish her nothing but happiness and success. If she came her to talk to the org that would be fantastic.

For my part that's good to hear. For her part, today she expressed a desire to respond to some of the comments made on this thread.

Eye mentioned a few months ago on a Vanity thread on here. That Eye chatted with Vanity!! Eye begged peeps on here 2 buy her book. Eye said that she was having financial problems and needed help! But was completely ignored. Eye mentioned her health is FAILING!!!

Now see what happened?

It sounds like something she may have said, in which case I am sure she did destroy many items of "memoribilia" that she had access to. However, over the past 2 years (and again last Thursday) I helped to consolidate her storages into one storage, and she tells me other friends are holding other items for her.

She is genuinely surprised at what she finds as she opens each box; and each item she finds has a story, which she shares with me and my boys (her nephews) as we help.

She has also immediately destroyed items in front of me.

-----Old purses does not sound like Vanity stuff to. People need to ease up on Denise we see fame and glamour with Vanity she dealt with drug use,debrachery and health issues. Try to see it from her side.

Denise is a very kind and generous person with a strong faith; a faith which I believe has kept alive these many years.

It would be nice if folks eased up on my sister, but if not I am sure she can handle it.

Thank You for the support. Denise's health is always a concern of mine. I would ask that people remember her in a prayer, first, before having anyone purchase any item.
