Sheila E.'s "A Love Bizarre" Video

In Sheila E.'s video for "A Love Bizarre" (1986), we see clips from the film 'Krush Groove,' and of course hear the voice of Prince, but who are the guys in Sheila's band mouthing Prince's part? I know there was Susie Davis, but just who are the guys (and what ever happened to them)?

Susie Davis went on to play in Billy Idols band on the Whiplash Smile tour and can be seen in the video for Mony Mony (Live*).

*Live as in lip sync performance in front of a crowd to make the video.

I saw this tour, don't remember much as I'm getting too old now to remember yesterday razz

Met Steve Stevens this year and he is really down to earth type of guy, no ego at all.

Wanted to ask about playing on Jill Jones album but I was too star struck eek

Stef Burns and Stef Birnbaum are hte same person.

.

Some of the band members changed their stage names over they years. Anyway Stef is the blond guitar player lipsyching the Prince/male part in the movie and video.

.

The keyboard player Ken Grey also changed his name too.... can't remember now what is other last name was. .

.

I met Susie Davis and took a lesson from her. She's really nice and down to earth.

Benny Rietveld (who also played a minor acting role in Krush Groove) went on to play with Miles Davis and currently Carlos Santana...not too bad (-:

There is a seperate A Love Bizarre video other than the live one, where Prince and the Revolution moved in on the main set?

It was the video that was showed on all the old video shows/channels at the time the single was out.

Anyone remember Sheila being on Saturday Night Live at the time and picking up a bass guitar and jamming during A Love Bizarre?

ok I need a Romance 1600 era thread. A LOT happened in the Purple camp during this time, that isn't so easily accessed. Even though Glamorous Life is my favorite of the 3, something about that Purple electricity, I do love who Sheila and band stood out and took Prince's vision to the world

Of course! The Holly Rock performance ws better. I think it was a guitar on LB and it wasn't plugged in or something.

Ken Grey now goes by Cat Grey. Apparently he's Wayne Brady's musical director. He's on with him on Aresenio right now

This is not the SNL performance but it's a cool arrangement...... pre-dating the version that she would create on the Romance 1600 live performance with the "new parts" etc.

.

And Stef Birnaum is singing Prince's part
