Looks and sounds fantastic! I think her dancing and singing talents deserve to stand on their own, now that she's the ex-wife. She did a great job choreographing "Slave 4 U" - but I don't know if she's done other choreography for other mainstream artists, and her short stint as a judge on "Dance Your Ass Off" was fine too. Do you suppose she'll ever put out another album?

The song is horrible and she cannot sing at all. But she was such a hottie and good dancer. Next time I'll watch the video without sound.

There's something she does that's really irritating to the ear. I saw her on another video that was released by the NPG club back in 2000 and it was really noticeable on that video . I'm not sure what song / video it was. Prince was on stage with his face covered (veiled I believe) and she was dancing around in a red outfit I think (open midsection). Then she starts speaking in Spanish and at the end of the segment, she suddenly hits this awful screechy note / tone that gave me the creeps. It was really sour (kinda spooky actually * releasing her inner demons I guess). It reminded me of bad ululating. She sorta does it in this song as well around 3:18 but not as severe as on that video that was released by the NPG club back in the day.

The screeching I was talking about wasn't a singing part (in the Get Wild video). If I remember correctly, it was a spoken segment where she really let loose at the end. It was really, really sour. You know that fingernails on a chalkboard, creepy tingles up your spine kinda thing.

The video was from '98 and the Children of the Sun album was from '95 - apparantley they were going to re-release the abum in '98 - there was a video for If I love U 2Nite when the album was out in '95 - don't know if that ever charted anywhere.

It started with her speaking in Spanish, and she gets louder, and louder, and then screams. It was AWFUL. When they started playing Get Wild, or Race for that matter, I always split for a bathroom break.

I think your issue may be blind devotion to Mayte and an unwillingness to allow others to express their honest opinions without getting your undies in a bundle. If one does not see eye to eye with you regarding videos, that doesn't mean they hate Mayte. It just means they have a difference of opinion. If we were all as blindly devoted as you are, we'd all be sycophants. It's healthy to take off the rose colored glasses once in awhile just to experience life (and videos) from a different perspective.

Headed to the bathroom because they did Get Wild and Race all the time, long 10+ minute versions of them. Not sure what P was thinking...that whole speech/scream thing was cringeworthy. I'm not a Mayte hater, she was always very friendly to me and gave me a tambourine at one of the Paisley Park shows.

Thank You Superfan1984 for upholding the First Amendment. Meltedman acts like the Mayte Gestapo which is seriously foolish and uncalled for. If he thinks a few people commenting on her unpleasant screaming in the Get Wild video is harsh (on prince.org), what would he do if Mayte was faced with a serious critique from Simon Cowell? Or, what would Mayte do for that matter? Fall apart? Go into cardiac arrest? Have a nervous breakdown? I'd hate to think. She claims, "I really don't give a f*ckkk" about people's opinions by Tweeting this yesterday but doesn't that post actually prove that she does? I mean, if you didn't care, you wouldn't have to express yourself in that manner using social media. It was a very classy post.

Motherfunka, it really shocked / surprised me when I heard the screaming for the first time on the Get Wild video back in the club days. I wasn't around at all during the 90's so I'm not familiar with what went on @ Glam Slam / Paisley Park etc. Thanks for filling me in.

The vocals are attrocious. But the video's actually not that bad and the choreography was pretty good. She should have stuck with that.

I agree with you regarding meltedman & Mayte. There's no doubt that she's involved in whining to him and getting him to post (if it's really him posting here). However, I think there may be a very good chance it's actually her posing as meltedman. Just a gut feeling.

My father was an attorney by profession and I can promise you that he wouldn't do something that childish for me let alone a friend. Very busy and no time for games. It's really childish. I also have an attorney (for business) and I know for a fact that he would never do something like that. In fact, it's hilarious even thinking about it. It gives me serious giggles thinking of crying to him and sending him to the Org to post on my behalf. He'd think I was nuts.
