I like how the writer pointed out Prince's 'machinations' to manipulate the public into thinking him and Apollonia were an item. He's still uses the same publicity schemes with new proteges. Funny how Becky Broderick said she's sure Prince is glad there was no Internet back then. I am sure she's right. I think Apollonia would have gone though hell with his fans if there was a prince.org back then. Certain fans would have called her a nut, crazy, and immature if the internet was around back in the Purple Rain days and I'm sure certain fans would have defended Prince for having "a good reason" for making Apollonia promise she wouldn't date anyone publically during the promotion of Purple Rain, even though she was a married woman, married to actor/martial artist Greg Patchull from 1980 to 1985. Maybe they were seperated since Prince supposedly convinced her to break up with her then-boyfriend, David Lee Roth to continue the charade that she was HIS girlfriend. It's clear to me Prince clearly thought his fan's perception of him and Apollonia as a couple on-screen and off would generate more interest in the film. It's obvious Prince feels he gets better promotion when his fan's perceive him as Prince the pimp. I think he always has "a good reason" for manipulating and trying to control other people and it's always to make him look good or so he can benefit.

Does anyone know why she is arguing with Anna Garcia? I wonder if some of these women still help Prince generate interest in his projects? They seem to use each other to get publicity. It's the only thing that makes sense. It keeps the fans talking about them and wondering Where Are They Now.

Most of the women on these reality shows are nothing but media and fame whores. Apples, is right...they need to get a real life.

I am glad that she has moved on from trying to be the woman that she was in the 80's. People that live in their past brush with fame, tend to be the ones that have way too much plastic surgery and get freaky looking. It is sad to see them on all of those "where is she now?" shows.

If she doesn't want to ever do reality tv, good choice. Too many times they start off supposedly focusing on a project or business venture, and end up fighting. It's a bunch of drama.
