No way to know sales figures until NPG Records or Andy make them public but they are probably quite low, now I don't think it makes sense to judge a 2012 independent record's sales by the standards of 80's or 90's major companies sales figures we got used to in our youth. Superconductor was released independently, sold only online and with a minimum promotion (mostly aimed at the Prince fans community), and I'm not even mentioning the fact that in this digital age maybe half the people who downloaded it didn't pay for it at all. So let's say for example that it sold 50,000 copies (physical and digital): is that a flop? In this day and age and considering the context it's quite brilliant! I know many independant artists that would like to sell just as much and I doubt fDeluxe, Wendy & Lisa, The Original 7ven or Jesse Johnson sold many more copies of their latest albums: these artist don't get MTV, VH1 or any kind of radio airplay or Vevo exposure, the people who buy all that Lady Gaga Ke$ha shit never heard of them and never will and it's not because the music ain't good, it's because there is almost no more mass market for quality music anymore, only pre-fabricated music.
IDK in the US but in Europe the industry had changed because of illegal downloads: now 99% of our professional musicians make money with live shows, and records are now more seen as a promotional tool for the shows than the opposite. It was an absolut Flop!! Its a very Great Record but have you Seen it in a recordstore??? It has no distributer so where should they sell 50000 copies?? At Amazon USA alone? I doubt that...

The funny thing is that we almost don't have record stores anymore in France. Virgin Megastores filed for bankrucy a few months back, the other major record stores chain is now all focused on books, movies and video games with records having a smaller space in the stores every year, independant record stores disappeared a long while back save a few specialized ones in the biggest cities... IDK about stores in the US but what I know is that 2012 (or even 2011 can't remember) was the first year in which digital music sales surpassed physical music sales (including physical sold thru websites) in the US if not worldwide, so I'm not really sure if having a record in stores will make a big difference until you're Lady Gaga Ke$ha and every teenager and 50+ housewiffe knows your name (which ain't the case for Andy). Eventhough she is a Prince protege, she still has to work just like all other artists do.
I think she has to find a way to present her self to a bigger audiance than the Prince fans.
Because Prince fans are exactly that.
So, they are not her fans. Some will give her a little attention, but the rest is up to her.
She got a great opportunity to make an album, and now she has to work hard to sell it.
She can't depend on Prince to do everything for her.
99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Have you seen a record store period? When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Saleswise and chartwise it was no hit. But from the perspective of an independent artist who just started.....i mean she got good reviews and sold some copies. So it was probably a little success. The album is quite good...she maybe could have get a record deal, but if you are not selling millions of records you are not making any money these days, so to get a higher share as a independent artist is more profitable [Edited 5/9/13 12:52pm]

Yes,it flopped but how many of us really thought it would be a huge success? Prince hasn't had a successful protege since the mid-80s.

I would imagine she sold a couple hundred thousand copies tops.

I still haven't heard it. I just assume she is another of the wrong type of Prince proteges. Someone meant to emulate what is cool about another act, that Prince likes but can't get control over
Tony M = Chuck D Millenium = Destiny's Child DVS = Eminem Tamar - Beyonce Andy Allo = Esperanza Spalding

She's still touring here and there (was just at the Billboard awards pre-party) so more and more people will get to know her outside of the Prince universe, so there's more albums to be sold. Change it one more time..

Mikala Love = Taraji Henson
I think he's moving on to getting them to emulate actresses as well.

It's mind-boggling on this site that orgers who defended 'Condensate' sales numbers call other like selling CD's flops. Take it a step further and see how many other artists on this site that get doted on get similar sales. Now if you just didn't like the music or her then I could understand the attitude towards the project. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

It's a great album that deserves more recognition. I really wish it got noticed beyond us hardcores. Maybe if she played some shows...even small club shows she could start creating SOME sort of buzz. But doing nothing (or seemingly so) won't sell records...especially now.
