Rosie Gaines remixes release date question? First lemme sat that I HATE Rosie gaines for releasing all these remixes! It's giving me a headache to sort 'em out.
Now I need info on the "I Want U - The Mixes, Vol. 2" maxi.
iTunes and CD Baby say it was released in 1995 which we know isn't true.
Princevault on the song's page says it's from 2010 and on the single's page says that it's from 2005 (!!!)
I think I remember it's from 2010 but honestly I couldn't say.
Please somebody help me.

OK, after checking it seems the Vol. 2 is indeed from 2010. The whole Princevault entry is a MESS with several mixes being misdated or even ommitted but I can't blame them, I guess it gave them just as much a headache as it did me ) A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

It fits
(For those who r not familar with the discography's rule, not that unless i know of separate release dates I list all versions of a single under a single entry save promos, which was the only reasonable to do with all the maxi-single crazyness of the 90's)
Basically what i'm interested here is if a version is misplaced or forgotten

It's very well but how many of these remixes had any Prince involvement and are they any good? She Believed in Fairytales and Princes, He Believed the voices coming from his stereo

Prince wasn't involved on any of these recordings as far as we know (including the album versions and the original 1989 recording). It's very likely that he recorded a demo of sorts before handling the 1989 version to Levi Seacer, Jr. but if he did nothing is known about it and it remains unreleased. I haven't heard most of the remix but the quality of the few ones I've heard was ok, though not unforgettable. Prince is so wrong for not helping Rosie-the lady could sing and part of the reason why D&P is my fav song ever. I just dont understand why he didn't give her career a lil push

She once said it's because he wasn't boning her
Try Me/Concrete Jungle/Closer Than Close was to be released on Paisley Park but WB shut the label down b4 it happened. Whether Rosie or Prince chose NOT to release this album on NPG Records, I don't know (she wasn't on 1-800 New-Funk, quite surprisingly when u think of it) but I suspect she got tired of that whole Prince mess and went to Motown by choice.
What happened to the collaboration album that was announced on Prince's site in 2000 is another mystery. We don't even know if anything was recorded 4 this project besides Hit U In The Socket and Trouble and it's quite unclear whether she or Prince dropped it first. It was supposed to be on NPG Records.
