Hmm..my final word on this subject is this. There are many, many far more important things going on in the world.however the org is its own little purple universe and clearly P is important to us otherwise we just wouldn't hang here. Therefore in the context of P & this little world the thread is very relevant. As such it is sad to read yet another of many, many such stories being relayed, forget that it is P..it is just bad form to treat 1 fellow human in that way. He preaches love yet his actions towards people who have helped him are contrary.

For the record it appears that P had a 'word' with St. Paul..I suspect it would have been along the lines of being the support act for the upcoming MPLS gigs....if this were the case I hope that FDeleuxe truly break away, rely on their own brilliant talent and tell him to shove it!!.

Peace and out!

Unless this person proves who they say they are its all fraudulent and mere trolling. Every so often you have a bored fan who comes on pretending to be someone they are not. it could be true but coming on the Org to demand an apology when he/she can do so directly with Prince makes no sense, so I'm not buying it.

To her defense Chronic Freeze DID come here to pass a message to Prince (and, while he was at it, answer our questions) a few years back and it's been reported several times that once Prince wants u out every mean of communicating with him is shut down by his staff (that's also what he pays them for). This being said, Chronic Freeze clearly said that he was Chronic Freeze but how will Prince know who Sassey is if we don't? lol lol lol

Oh okay, you got a point there. but until I know who she is it could very well be someome making something up or not. shrug oh well. moving on

None of us had to be there. When the usual gripes about the "good ole days" is all about 'how much money I was making(or lack of said money)' or 'I had a family to support' it sounds like any employee complaining about their job/employer. It just so happens that Prince is the employer in this case. In the case of St.Paul he was hired to replace a fired band member and then chose to quit when he was made a better offer to make more money at the time. Sound like employee behavior to me. All of these people are musicians and they want to earn a living making music. They weren't out selling insurance door to door to make ends meet and then jamming in moms garage. Prince offered people job opportunities to make some money doing what they wanted to do with their lives.

Ok- so you ARE just making assumptions. Having worked with others in artisitic capacity I often make freinds with people that go on well beyond the project. That is pretty normal. Moving on to something else is part of growing, but it doesn't mean you lose touch or freindship with people. In St. Pauls case he was given the lead in a band AFTER palying a stint in the Time, rehearsed and rehearsed The Family but never got out of MN. becasue Prince pretty much forgot about them while on the road. So from a business standpoint moving on made sense. Does not mean there was no freindship. Does not mean there was. Any speculation would be based on ASSumption.
I tend to pay attention to people involved in these events rather than armchair naysayers whose beliefs in their own version of Princehistory are unbalanced when someone talks about real world experience instead of fan concocted musings and paperback psychology.

These people must get so sick of being asked about him. I like the album and the 07 album, and the last Prince one. From this interview we can safely say that Prince may have the talent but these guys are the nicer people. They were all so adorable after that Jazz Cafe show.
