Andre Cymone - Producer

Everybody knows of Andre Cymone's association with Prince and his solo hits, "Dance Electric" and "Lipstick Lover", but very few know about his writing and producing for other artists such as:

Just to name a few.

Andre is the Andrew Ridgely to Prince's inner George Michael.

I'm not aware of Andrew Ridgley's musical skills, but Cymone's are on point. And Prince wasn't a duo such as Wham. There were more musicians and mainly a band backing him up. Dre specifically decided to go his own way into the new wave direction, including a track such as "Kelly's Eyes", as his later collaboration with Prince for "The Dance Electric". No, Cymone wasn't unfortunately riding the big waves as Prince, yet comparing him to Ridgley is a stretch imo. Dre certainly had his own vision of musical concepts, from which some tracks of (the upcoming cd reissue of) The Girls sound tight, and a few years later his production work for Jody Watley resulted in good recognition. In no way a same run as Ridgley's only album release of "Son Of Albert".

I wasn't comparing Andre's musical skills to Andrew Ridgely's, at all.

I was making the inference that no matter how great Andre is,and I happen to think he is AWSOME,he will always be over-shadowed by Prince.

The Adam Ant album is decent, André did a good job on it. As far as I know he handled everything on it bar the vocals and guitars. Definitely underrated.
